Vintage Hogan Bag Find at Goodwill

Went to a local Goodwill the other day and found this gem of a vintage Hogan golf bag. Not sure if it's supposed to look like alligator or snake skin; I believe it is some sort of faux leather though. I'm trying to find out more information about this bag like when it could have been produced along with its possible value. I have attached multiple photos showing the bag. No rips, tears, and 2-3 MINOR scuffs.

It looks like the bag was intended to be 100% open top; nothing no sections. Previous owner decided for the Styrofoam and tubes for the clubs... I don't think that existed in the golf industry when this bag was made.

That's a great looking bag for its age. The AMF branding of Hogan stuff stopped somewhere between '85 and '88.

I think there may have been dividers originally, but that the owner chose to go with tubes instead - those brass rimmed oblong slots are for the securing straps, no?

That bag is gorgeous. Did you have to clean it up at all?

That bag was made by Burton for Hogan. Notice the vertical slot on the top cuff of the bag. A divider of some kind originally slid through there and created a four way top.

Yes - there would have been a belt-like strap threaded through the slots and secured with a buckle. The tubes seem like a nice option in a cart bag. I often find it harder to pull clubs past each other out of my carry bag when it's perched up two feet higher in a cart.

Probably not a Burton...I have several and all of mine say Ben Hogan by Burton on the plate below the upper strap ring, and Burton's are fairly early in the pantheon of Hogan bags, also the script on the bottom of the bag looks to be late '70's at the oldest. That being said, great find and an awesome bag!

If you can believe it I picked this bag up for only $8!

The bag is fairly light; the titleist staff bag in my profile photo is heavier than this bag.

+1 on the other comments regarding the strap divider. I had a Hogan bag (not this nice!) in HS with that type of strap divider.
