I've tried lots of superstroke grips: Flatso Slim, 2.0, Flatso Mid-Slim, 3.0.

 

I settled in on the Flatso Slim when I was chasing new grips, but I'm currently using a stock Lamkin on the Seemore.

 

Ultimately I don't think the superstroke did anything to "quiet my wrists", but I generally didn't have a problem with that in the first place. The main thing is just getting my hands in a consistent and comfortable position. Larger grip sizes and options can help with that, but it's an individual thing.

Has anyone ever played Cattail Creek CC? Depending on which way I take home from the Beck I drive right past it. It looks SO pure from the couple of holes that I can see.

 

It has to be 10+ years since I played it, but from what I remember, it was real nice. Rolling hills, lots of ponds, greens were in great condition. Played with a buddy whose friend belonged and played it 3 or 4 times a year for several years.

 

got out there a few times in the past 3 years. the course was in very good condition both times. excellent green complexes, interesting holes. i played one of those rounds in the fall, and with all the turning foilage, it was awesome. i didn't play really well unfortunately.

 

totally reminds me to try get out there again this year.

I have an oversize grip on the Bridgestone.

 

I tried SuperStrokes before and Winn oversized. I didn't like it much, but I didn't give it a long try out. It changes the swing weight a lot.

 

Grip is very personal. Absolutely no universal answer on "best grip".

On the topic of putters, who uses a larger than standard grip? Does it help? I've been thinking of trying one out for a while now

 

only way to know is to buy one and try one. pro tip: for the amount of $$ it costs to buy a grip and have it installed, i'd just buy a putter of ebay that already has one on it. who knows, you might actually like the putter by extension. that's exactly what i did to try out the superstroke grip. 4 years later, the putter is still in the bag.

 

 

 

 

I guess I'm in the minority, but I think that + alignment aid is kinda cool.

 

i'm secretly screwing with fabb so every time he looks at that putter he thinks that i think that it's a been squeezed out of scotty's misshapen balloon knot.

I had the winn 1.18 for a while. It was very comfortable, but the midsize pp58 is great. Found I don't want anything bigger than a "midsize", and the pp58 is on the smaller end of the midsize spectrum.

here's a center shafted putter you might like. i *think* the superstroke was the standard grip on these. you'd have to call CS to confirm tho, it's not listed. might be a free shipping code floating around out there too.

I've got a Super Stroke of some sort (forgot which) and am very happy with it. I have a tendency to put a death grip on the putter and the big grip reduces that.

SuoerStokes can be had on eBay for 10-20 bucks from the smallest to the larger XL 3.0s. Most can be installed without tape for a trial if needed. Can be removed without ruining it or to install permanantely.

 

I've played them for a few years. I was an awful putter, started using SS grips and became decent. Not sure if there is a direct correlation, but I'd assume as much. Currently using an XL 2.0 and XL 3.0 both counterbalance grips. I've tried the Winns and they felt too dead / have become accustomed to the profile of the SS. Didn't bang for very long.

All? Eh, probably not, but for a few bucks I dont like taking the chance There are certainly a huge amount of fake SS grips being sold from China so I'll just shop for the best deal. Probably just me but when I'm trolling ebay for golf stuff I always check the "US Only" filter, feel like I've just read too many articles/threads about getting sent fakes from ebay.

Yea, I was looking around and saw that. But if I can find a half mallet with a midsized grip on ebay, I'm sort of killing two eagles with one stone, so I might try to go that route

1) some guy set up a whole new manufacturing system in another plant to create fake SuperStrokes, or

 

2) some guy is taking real Superstrokes and slipping a crate from every batch off the loading dock onto the back of his buddy's truck who is moving them on eBay?

 

Even if it's "2", you still might not want to support it. I've bought a couple "fake" Chinese things in my life. I lean towards "2".

I haven't changed grips in 2 years... Also, I would never do it. Im frugial but when it comes to golf I'll usually just spend the money.

Its optimal if the OD of the shaft and the ID of the grip match, but it's not a must. You can make it work either way.

3) inferior products are used in same plant. the rubber for the grips wouldn't pass inspection for the real deal, and they run a third shift making the "same" grip with lesser materials. And then #2 happens, for the entire shift.
