who's going under par for 18 this yearr (non #RRC)?

pq: youbetcha.

fabb: unlikely b/c he always tips it out.

city: all signs point to yes. will not be from the tips.

stix: YUP. recovery going great.

dc: 50-50.

domes: maybe baby. recovery also going great.

me: if the stars align, i'll get close. if it's an injury free year, i'll be very interested to see how i'm playing in september.

2more terps: if you add up 2 separate 9s on different days, yes.

JJ: only if he buys the optishot and has me over to drink whiskey in his garage once a month.

Advantage to going low for folks who play the same course a lot. Mostly because it increases the ability to make putts, and you gotta make putts to go low. Fabb is the only guy on here as of now that could have 32-35 putts and shoot E.

Even though I do work hard, it's slowed down a little. My elbow is still bothering me. Last year, I dealt with a knee, a neck, a shoulder briefly and a finger. I really can't hit irons off mats any more.

This weekend, I played Saturday, but I didn't hit balls Friday or Sunday. In years past, I would have found the time even to go over to Clifton and hit putts, or a small bucket on Friday at the crap range on 29.

The biggest difference for me the last year was playing more because of joining a place, and playing through the winter.

Also : Even though I feel good, I haven't done anything yet. Last year at this time, we were all hibernating, and when I came out of hibernation, I had developed a swing flaw that had me shooting 82 at Clifton. My last 10 rounds have me at about a 3.5 handicap, which I'm psyched about. And when the weather is nice, that should improve.

But, we've all been around this game long enough to know what happens when you start feeling too smug about it. Pride goeth before the dong.

who actually has gone under par for 18 before?

fabb - yes

pq - yes

me - yes

stix - yes

jj - yes

halcyan - yes

dt - yes

2more - yes

is this right?

Word up homey, but it's been a minute. Last time was 3 years ago at UMD (70 from da tips). Good way to get the index artificially down for a bit. Though I think my 79 was a better diff from BPB, which is silly.

That's not true. 70 tips at UMD is negative diff.

79 at BPB is still pos diff. It's like 78.1 there or something.

I'd have to enter them in, but I thought BPB was negative ... slope is off the charts.

I've gone under a long time ago. Summer break from college when I worked at a course and played every day. It was a magical front 9. 5 under which included 2 chip in birdies. Made 8 birdies in total that day, but also made a couple of doubles on the back to come in at -3 (67 on a par 70). The best part was that it happened in the Sunday game. Won like $120 and went and bought a new sand wedge.

GTM:

Is your "Best round eva" your lowest round, or something different?

The 67 was a great round, but I don't consider it my "best". 73 in the City Championship, 73 from the tips at Green Hill, 69 in the member guest at OC were probably better, but the 71 in the State Team matches may be my best one overall. Birdied the last hole to shoot -1 and win all 3 points. First time the pair we played against had ever been shut out in 15 years of playing together.

LOL.

Play Clifton. That went in the books as like a 14 differential.

But, anyway, last winter, I was coming up too steeply or something and my right wrist was completely breaking down. So bad that once I hit myself in the head with the shaft in my backswing. I got back to swinging flatter so that the right wrist couldn't break down. I changed the plane.

The reason I was swinging like that is that I was trying to work on a sort of "bubba fade". Trying to hit with twirly hips and high hands.

I'm a stronger golfer for having gone through it.

GTM: No

Best Round Ever was the recovery round with THDC. No expectations, a rather fun track, was a great day.

Lowest Score Ever was an 89 back at Frederick Golf Club (Cow Pasture). This was a few years ago, I want to say 2010 or 2011. Things might have gone well in each shot, but just a bad day in total by feel.

What was the differential for eagle's round at BPB last year? I can't remember him posting about it for some reason.

teed it up with Boogs and blast from the past DCVince!!!! this past saturday at hampshire greens. they had no tee markers out, so we did the most sensible thing and just tipped it out. 6815/73.0/131/par 72. good times, lots of laughs and some decent golf from everyone as well.

boogs keeps getting some side action with different drivers, but the ltd pro has just proven herself time and time again. the low spin head plus the low spin ball (e6) has kept more of his drives in play. and the good ones are very good. irons were better for him this round, lots of great contact. i think he kept playing for a fade that never materialized. putter was hot fire. made so many in the 5-15 foot range. biggest improvement for boogs recently has been his approach to chipping/pitching. really turning that weakness around.

so good to tee it up with dcvince!!!! again. dude is just like a big warm teddybear, radiating positive vibes. i don't know what it is about him, but he just gets me all giggly. game was in rough shape as he hasn't been playing much, but he kept such a good attitude the whole day. a good lesson for me in proper comportment.

i played pretty well. still pretty rusty with the putter, and had 8 putts DFCS. "six inches short" was the unfortunate mantra on my birdie putts. i kept trying to hit them harder too. frustrating. the good: drove the ball excellently, just wish i had more distance. averaged around 230 or so, which left a lot of longer approaches on some of the par 4s. thankfully, the 4h was on point, as i hit the green from 190-205 more often than not, and stiffed one on a 205 par 3 (see below). irons were just ok. overall, the game is a work in progress, and it's progressing nicely after that 6 week layoff. hopefully i can 'peak' in, oh, 12 days or so. :)

Screen_Shot_2017_02_13_at_9_56_14_AM.png

neither i nor boogs nor dcvince!!!! had played from the tips at HG before. really changed the view on more than a few holes. i also felt like it widened the landing areas for me. approaches were tougher, obvi, and the par 3s were totally different beasts. that said, i was even on the 3s, even eeked out a birdie. really enjoyed the diffence. would bang again.

I owe the chipping/pitching improvement to you. I added one other setup adjustment but I've exponentially improved since.

i don't think city swing is bad looking at all? He HIT it. no guide. LOVE dong pointed at target. lol.

why does the grint ALWAYS have scorecards wrong? msga ap shows rolling road as 70.3/128

who has gone under par POST kids? Not me! I shot par at Waverly post kids (white tees).

I played Saturday. Bad tee shots on 1, 2 and 4 led to a pitch out, re-tee, and pitch out. I warmed up and on the last 13 holes I made 8 pars, hit 7 greens, only hit one wayward drive, and really should have been better than 5 over. If you let me play over from where my "in regulation" shots ended up most days I would've been 3 over. My practice is helping.

Best Round: 84 at EPP from the blues while drinking 6 PBR tall boys.

best of that type of round was probably 75 at hampshire with double digit miller lites
