Bushnell Tour V3 Battery Life?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I can't seem to find a definitive answer to how long the Bushnell V3 battery life is anywhere on the forums, so I was hoping just asking directly might illicit a better answer. So, does anyone know what the usual battery life is for the V3? I heard that the V2 was infamous for terrible battery life, and I'm a frequent player during spring and summer, usually playing about 3-4 times per week, so that wouldn't be worth it for me. I know a lot of friends that have one but I don't know how long their batteries go for, so does anyone have long term experience with a V3? Thanks.

The V2 wasn't good with batteries but the V3 does much better. I usually play 45 rounds a year and my original battery lasted approximately 40 rounds.

My V3 is too new to know exactly, but everything I read before purchasing seemed to indicate fine battery life. Plus, I picked up a 5-pack of replacement batteries from Amazon for $10 shipped (which I'll probably still be using several years from now), so I can't see that batteries should play a huge role in your decision.

Hey guys. I own the V3 and have had a decent experience with the battery. Definitely nothing that would stop me from recommending it. Lasted about 40+ rounds. Only issue I found is that when the battery does die, it is immediate. Playing two weeks ago, it was fine for the first 4 holes, then stopped working at hole #5. Luckily my pro shop sells quite a few of these so they also stock the batteries. Changed it out at the turn and was good to go.

Would be lost without it. Really love it and highly recommend it.

I actually bought the Leupold gx-1i2 online today, and I'm super excited to get it now. I've heard great things about Leupold's customer service and the battery life is supposed to be awesome as well. I was really tempted by the Bushnell and its overall popularity, but the Leupold had so many good reviews and I got it fairly cheap, so I'm happy with the purchase. Thanks for the answers though guys.

Link? That's a smoking hot deal if they not the crappy a** generic batteries. I have had my Bushnell V3 since May of 13, and have had to switch out my battery twice.

I am having trouble linking from Amazon, but you can just run a search on Amazon for CR2 batteries, and there are plenty of options. 6-pack of Duracells for around $15, other 5-packs, 4-packs, etc. Some are "generic", but I've never had a problem with the cheap generic batteries through Amazon, whether for watches, remotes, etc. And we're talking little Rangefinder batteries here, not car batteries. I am sure they are fine, and will get the job done.

The issue with some of the generic ones is that they can leak over time and end up making a mess of your devices. Not all are bad, but if you use them, make sure you remove them if storing for extended periods of time and avoid keeping them in a hot trunk if you can. Just a bit of safety for a $300 device is worth it.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
