Vega raf-cm

What are you guys thoughts on the vega raf-cm blades. I bought a set on the bay that look to be in great shape. I have not received them yet. I have played my mp-67's for several years and just wanting something different in the bag. How would you compare the 2 if someone has hit both. Both sets have s300's which work good for me. thanks

I haven't hit the 67s, but I have the raf cms. I got a great deal on mine as well on eBay. I took the plating off mine so they are raw now, but even considering that I can't imagine these clubs being much less soft when plated, they are truly soft as crap. I mean borderline too soft, soft. I have mbs tours in mine and I would rather s300s so I imagine the s300s may not feel as smooth bit will also keep them down, both of those are good things with these clubs.

Thanks for the reply. Glad you like yours. I can't wait to get them its gonna take a good stick to kick my 67's out of the bag.

I carry 3-pw and the 3 is not hard to hit. I will say this about them, give them time. Mine I got around same time as my baby blades because I scored such a rocking deal and had a broken rib and wanted to make a custom set, and when I got back into playing, the small blades stole all the thunder. However, I have been playing the Vegas more lately and they are really nice to come back to. I think that they very subtlety fantastic clubs, nothing in your face other than the outrageous softness. They are very playable blades as well.

Maybe someone can answer this. The shafts in my mp14"s were some I took out of a old set of mcgregor vip combo set that came with the rifle shafts in them. I have done a little research and it looks like these mcgregor's they came out of had a .370 shaft size. It has been so long ago I can't remember I may have drilled the 14's out a little to use them in them LOL. Im not sure I may just take a couple heads off and see if they fit.

If it's an old set of irons that you pulled the shaft from, there maybe a good chance it's .370

Not sure when club makers started to use .355 but I know that's fairly recent. Maybe with in last 10-15 years. Maybe bit more.

be careful there... I have a set of rifles from a set of vips and I know they are taper...Vips probably changed at some point in production .......just like the vega comments above... mine are taper.. others parallel ... so cant assume anything

I think you are going to be really happy.

I only have 2 nit picky issues with these irons, and they are both mental, and I am about over both of them because they are such good irons, 1 is that I think the toe is too rounded and 2 is that I do not like the transition from 8 to 7 iron, something just seems off going to 7 from 8. I can't play this weekend, but I am going to sneak on a private course tomorrow and walk 6 holes at dusk and I am bringing these :). They are such a joy to hit, especially the long irons...

I find the transition "issue" to the 8-iron to be true with most JDM irons. The 8 thru PW lose their "compactness".

It is NOT like the typical shovel move like what was said about jdm in general....I prefer the p-8, something about the 7 down has a more rounded toe or longer blade length (not height) "look" to it. I am sure if measured it is nothing, and frankly, I am over it and it doesn't bother me like it used to becuase they are so nice to hit and really this is a "me" thing becuase I like square toed clubs. To me, the bAbu blade is a perfect toe, and that is the set I switch back and forth with. As long as I hit them on different days, it is no big deal, but I have stopped bringing clins from each to the range, it is unproductive, and I have enough to work on without mental mind games at address....

Don't be discouraged by what I said, the Vegas are really sick.

Looks sick!! Enjoy!

Edit- I also made mine and I think it is cooler when you shaft them up yourself!

Thanks I have always liked tinkering with clubs. I think I am gonna look into getting a loft/lie machine. If anyone is interested those lamkin i lines feel real tacky and there is a seller on ebay that has them 13 grips for $45 shipped. That is cheap I can't wait to play them this weekend the grips feel great.

Get a loft lie. I love mine and I have saved enough to pay for it buying used sets without a care as to how they are numbers wise. And most people would be semi shocked or not to see some of the weird loft lie differences even in good sets.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
