Hogan finds

I picked up these Hogan Edge irons ('88?) for free at the local dump/transfer station...I cleaned/polished/sharpened the grooves and play them a lot. Then a couple weeks ago I picked up these '74 Directors for $22 at Goodwill. I played 36 holes w/ the Directors and enjoy the feeling when struck properly (about 50% for me lol)

The Edge irons are late 80s - early 90s. The Directors are sweet! Nice finds!

I picked up a set of 3-9 Hogan Bounce 1+ (1969) earlier this summer. Also a 2nd hand store find for 50 cents a club! I've played them several times now and enjoy them but they are not close to being in that nice a condition. Great finds man!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.I started golf with the Spalding on the left of the picture at about age 12. I "graduated" to my brother's old Burke Flangirons...then didn't play at all for several years, got back into the game with Callaway x-16 , and after 5 years of that sold those Callaways and picked up these used Hogan Apex Edge Pros...haven't looked back since. I'm now addicted to old forged irons.

WARNING---- You may have to make space to store all your finds or rent a storage unit like I did but I have stuff besides golf clubs in the storage unit mostly tools from when I was a diesel mechanic. My better half does not mind she says it could be worse-- I could be back into race cars, antique Harleys or hanging out at bars getting plastered and chasing loose women. Besides classic club hoeing is a heck of a lot cheaper than any of the before mentioned things

Congratulations on all your Hogan finds.

 

Have been looking for a LH '73 Ben Hogan Apex Equalizer Wedge for 3 years. It's the one similar to your last post..

 

In that time, there have been a number of postings showing the number of old RH Apex Equalizer wedges.

 

Even acquired a RH Ben Hogan Round Sole Equalizer Wedge that I'd gladly trade for it..

 

Before anyone suggests for me to even ask the new Ben Hogan Golf Company-

 

Even though it's 2016, it appears they'll remain RH Only for a few more years.

Big Stu was right, he tried to warn me!!! I have a vintage set from each decade 50s, 60s 70s bag etc. My wife got mad it started looking like a golf museum so I rented a storage and only keep the best of the best at the home. Welcome :)

Same here but nobody could part with these classics (women should understand !!!!).

I am in Phoenix in two to three weeks from now; the '61 Power Thrusts will be with me on the trip.

That Hogan Director is the model Ray Floyd used to win his Masters. Nice!

Big STu was the one who first advised me to "Go Get a storage Unit" LOL, good thing I did, It probably saved my marriage. zip tied sets stuffed under the bed, and vintage bags all over the place with old persimmon woods. Addicting is exactly the right word. My 66 hagen set stays home though as thats my gamer set. I did go get some of the older woods out of storage as I feared the heat in here in AZ in a non AC unit might ruin those clubs, who knows maybe they were sitting in someones shed for years before I acquired them.
