Anyone been to this new facility yet (or any other for that matter)?

It literally across the street from my office but have yet to stop in.

I was hoping for some insight.

I played at a topgolf in Dallas during a conference. I think it could be fun if you're not a serious golfer or you can become less serious while you do it.

It felt to me like a bad matchup of a sports bar and a limited flight driving range - but it's very successful so I must be in the minority with my low enjoyment of it. I think the networking I did was worth more than the golf experience - to me that sort of bastardized the golf.

Anyway, go try it out and make your own judgment.

There's one about 40 minutes from here. The first three months you couldn't even get in the door and the place is huge. The waiting line to get in was over 2 hours long. It's mostly by reservation only. If you want to walk in.....good friggn' luck.

As others have said its not really a place you go to practice your golf game. It's oriented more toward parties of 10 of more people going to a sports bar, eating, drinking and maybe hitting some golf balls to a target. Each of the "bays" are for at least 4 people or more and priced as such. You have to reserve an area that includes a waiter/ess, tables, and 2 hitting bays. They make money more from food and beverage then anything else.

I know I'm late to post but 596 and jewofgolf are 100% right. I will add however that I think it has added some interest to the game of golf. I have gotten some people to pick up a club who normally wouldn't, like my sister.

Top Golf is SOOOOO much fun! The one in Wooddale has been there for probably 15 years, but I have been to them in Scottsdale and Dallas as well. They're building them up in Nashville, Vegas, and other places.

The facilities cost 17 million dollars to build and are absolutely fantastic! I know people who go there just for the food, just for the bar/atmosphere, and I know some people who will go there to work on their golf games. You will see business people there, girls dressed like they're going to the club, and all other walks of life. Places like this are AMAZING for the game of golf as they're introducing so many people to a no pressure, fun way of learning the game. I know if I were a beginner, I'd much rather take lessons or learn at a facility such as this than a standard golf range.

While it is not cheap, other than those who can not afford it, I would imagine that the only people who may not enjoy it as much are those who are golf "purists," or the type of people who would rather watch a football game at their house than go to the stadium, tailgate, and watch it live.
