Courses reopening

I live in the Chicago area and I've been getting emails from several courses I play that they are reopening for the next few weeks. Usually they close sometime in November and don't open again until sometime in April. Unbelievable just two weeks ago we had 6-10 inches of snow. Hit the range today definitely have to try playing somewhere next week. Is this happening in other northern states?

Everyone needs revenue. Take advantage of the unusually good weather and get some December rounds in.

Same thing here in Western Illinois. I played a CC today that re-opened this week after our 10 inches of snow...and it was beautiful and in great shape. I figured it made sense because everything else (pro shop,restaurant,bar) at the club is open because of monthly minimums, why not get some golfers out there also...it was very nice out there

Very likely to happen in Minnesota early this week. I'm planning to take some time off of work if possible! As sloppy as winter golf can be, it's better than nada until March or April.

But, we are fortunate enough to have the International 2000. It never closes until the first "permanent" snow storm. (That will not melt within 3-4 days)

It's not the best conditions, but it beats virtual/indoor golf by a landslide.

In 2007, I played my last 36 holes on Jan 06, 2008...And I was back on the 1st tee on March 16.

Played yesterday, playing Tuesday, playing Saturday.

Absolutely a bonus!

Courses are in good shape, only "real" golfers out there so the pace is great, prices are winter rates, and no bugs.

I'll take these conditions all year if I could!

Plus, I'm really playing well.

68 and no wind here in the 309 today.

Couldn't make it out to the course, but did spend a couple hours at the range and it was PACKED.
