Seeking Bethpage Black golf buddy(s) in Manhattan / NYC

I am a 37 y/o media professional in Hell's Kitchen, NYC. I am an avid golfer, 8 hdcp who plays 50-60 rounds per year.

I would like to meet like minded individuals (25-50 years old, 0-15 hdcp golfers) in Manhattan interested in playing Bethpage Black and other top NYC public tracks primarily on the weekends. (I have a car)

I used to work off hours (4am to noon) and would often walk on as a single for afternoon rounds at Bethpage Black and Trump Ferry Point during the week.

However my new M-F job has made me a strictly weekend player, and I can no longer be assured of being able to walk on at the Black whenever the mood strikes.

I have also lost most of my golf buddies to marriage, fatherhood, relocation, etc, and would love to meet some new people to play with.

My motives are not completely unselfish...as you may or may not know, NY residents are allowed to make one tee time per month on the Black. I would love to partner up w/ other Manhattanites who would like to pool our tee time capabilities in order to make reservations on the Black 2, 3, or 4 times a month.

Yeah, Ferry Point is great, it is just expensive. It is $140 for NYC residents weekday, $170 weekend (and I think non-NYC residents are like $200 and $225), and that doesn't include cart. But it is a fun track...great views and really tough when it is windy.

I've always wanted to play the Black course, I've heard many great things but I'd like to play that monster from where they did in the us open. Is it weird to say it's one of my favorite courses and I've never played it??

Played Black esp. 2wks after 2009 open.

Other than trambled down rough area, if you hit into fescue, it was hit pretty much sideways back into fairway.

There was fescue in many of split fairways & around Tillingast mounds/bunkers.

Rough off fairway was mid-thigh. 2ft in it went to belly button height.

Worked Medinah PGA in 2006. Its a brute but definitely not as bad as Black. Rough is thick & deep but not like Black. Fairways were definitely wider.
