Every year we do the same thing at our chamber of commerce outing. Long dive m/w, longest putt, closest to the pin. What are some of the fun things you guys/gals do that are different? The teams will be made up of 4 people and we will use best shot.

I assume you also have a hole-in-one thing?

 

A fun one I've seen is the straightest drive contest. Has to be a fairly straight hole.

played in yet another charity event in 2015. in the format they called out for usage of a "Duck" ball by each group. I had never heard of this in my life. anyhow, each foursome gets a ball (a yellow Pinnacle found in one cart) which in a hole by hole rotation one player has to use as their ball for the entire hole. if the ball doesn't get lost by the end of the day, you turn it in with your scorecard for minus 1 stroke off your team score. kinda fun, plenty of trash talk, a little extra pressure for whoever is playing it at the moment, especially on a course's hardest holes. I had the dubious honor of losing ours for the group after hitting a H.O.F. drive easily over a dogleg and yet somehow we never found it.

 

I would recommend this fun/very simple addition to any scramble at the drop of a hat.

In a scramble format, we play one hole off the shortest drive in the fairway and one hole farthest from the pin (on the green) on a par three. The group has to use that ball for their score. Shortest and farthest players win prizes.

 

This gives the higher handicappersca chance to win something.
