Chicago Golf Show

A buddy and I were planning on going this year, but after looking at the website I'm having some doubts. How is the show itself? There doesn't seem to be a ton of manufacturers. Being the ho that I am, this is what I was looking forward to the most. Is it still worth the hour and a half drive, or should we avoid it all together? Thanks!

Here's my two cents, others may disagree.

The show is nice if you're looking at picking-up soft goods... Shoes, gloves, shirts, balls, etc. Deals to be had.

However, outside of that, it is nothing special. A limited amount of OEMs to demo, same vendors every year, same gimmicks, etc.

I'll go because I'm in Chicago and its a good time killer on a winter afternoon. But, if I had to drive a significant distance, no way.

I would agree with that assessment. If you are looking to get out of the house, start thinking about golf in February and maybe get a few good deals, it's worth going.

I would not say there is anything in particular worth driving 1.5 hours for, but if you like browsing, getting a lot of pamphlets for golf vacations, etc. its worth going.

agree with everyone else. If you live within a half hour its not a bad way to kill a Saturday or Sunday, but if you go there looking to re-arm yourself with new clubs on the cheap you'll probably come away disappointed.

Agree with others here. I always stock up on gloves, balls, hats, and some OEM t shirts, but that's about it. I also go for some of the deals that numerous courses have / coupons that they give out.
