I hope she does well in her life.

She has a great swing and when she is deciding schedules for herself I think she will compete easily with the women and possibly make some cuts in mens events.

She is getting some stick these days. Some might say it is deserved but it was not her fault that she was the best amateur golfer (male or female) at 13 to 15 years old and a lot has been pushed onto her.

She has talent, but her play has declined. It is her parents fault for pushing her too far this soon. She shouldn't have been messing with these mens tournements until her game was better. Her later showings there can't have been a confidence boost. If they had waited five more years before pushing her to so many events, she would have been great. She still can be, but I believe she won't reach her complete potential because of the decisions being made for her.

SHE IS 17!!!!!....most people don't reach their "prime" until 30's.......I mean geez give the girl a break....yeah her "posse" is a little off the wall.....but she is for intensive purposes a kid.....I mean listen to her talk in the interviews.....She sounds like a nervous 17 year old.....and the decline in her play might have something to do with a broken wrist......

 

I know that America and the golf world is a what have you done for me now atmosphere.....but my goodness....you are writing the poor girl off before she has even started......

 

Just my opinion.....and I am not a gung ho Wie fan....I don't think she should be playing in mens events......But I hate to see a person with some serious talent, get bashed for no reason and with no facts to support their claim......every golfer....(yes even Tiger) goes through periods where they are not playing to their potential......show me one person in the history of golf that has not had a stretch of "declining play"....

There are still alot of players at right around +2 that don't play until this afternoon. I think the cut will change quite a bit if she can just get in the clubhouse without too much trouble. +4 or +5 might just make it to the weekend by the end of the day.

Obviously the kid has talent. Has she been guided in the right direction? Not really. Does she have an injury? Possibly. I think there was an injury, but as fo right now I think that is a scape goat. I doubt her wrist is broken. Honestly, if I had a broken wrist I owuldn't be out there.

 

I think with time and with maturity she will only get better. She needs to fix her focus on winning on the LPGA a few times before she attmepts to make a cut or win on the PGA Tour.

 

I really think the reason she is struggling right now adds up to her parents, managers, and pressure. Remember she is 17. Think of all the stupid things we did when we were 17. Would we have done better at that age than she is? Probably not.
