Ping Zing vs Ping Zing 2

Basic question: what's the difference between the Zing and the Zing 2? Zing has toe hang for strong arc strokes, same for Zing 2 I guess. Never seen a Zing 2 in person so wondering about the design differences. Anyone? Obviously the Zing was updated in the Karsten TR line but the Zing 2 was a while ago.

yes, they are 100% the same toe hang... original Ping Zing was available in the Bronze finish and had the white line on the top...

original Zing 2 was now available in 17-4 Stainless finish and BeCu metal and they moved the white line down onto flange making it larger... I could be wrong, but I want to remember the Zing 2 might, MIGHT, have been just a mm or two wider and longer than original Zing.

KLP, i agree with you about the Zing 2 appearing to be larger. Maybe it's the site line playing tricks on me, but I've always thought the Zing 2 appeared slightly larger.

 

I own a Zing 2 but prefer the original site line on only the top line. Can't go wrong with either style, though.

Thanks everyone. But the Karsten TR (that came in 2014) is the Zing but with the sight line on the flange like Zing 2?

Is the toe on the Zing 2 wider than the heel like the original Zing? I've looked at numerous pictures online and can't tell for sure.

Zing is a little more compact than the Zing 2. My Zing Redwood seems to be the same as my Zing 2. I was never a fan of the original the 2 just fits my eye better plus I like the line on the bottom vs the top line marking.
