Leupold TGR Accuracy - Altitude/Temp

I just picked up a GX 2i2 and was wondering how accurate is the TGR? Does the temp and altitude really make any difference in the readings? Would love to hear peoples experience. I'll report back once I have some data to share. Thanks!

I've used the Gx2i2 for about 5 rounds now and here are my opinions. 1) Altitude and Temp settings, I see there being very little difference in the readings... Now I haven't really tested the Altitude setting since I've only used in my hometown of Richmond, VA which is about 300 ft above sea level but I'll be testing that this weekend while headed to the mountains. IMO, theses settings are more of a gimmick than practical application. 2) Slope/TGR reading, I've found it under estimates the uphill readings but isn't too bad for downhill. For example, at my home course which is fairly hilly and has numerous elevation changes most of the uphill shots it will say to add about 2-3 yards for the slope and I've found that it leaves me about a club short... It's been so consistent that I've actually turned off the slope/TGR setting. 3) I will say I love the compact nature of the device and it does a great job of hitting the flag or anything else I'm looking to hit for distance like a tree, bunker, mounding behind the green etc... 4) Optics are very good and I have no problems seeing the readings. Overall a solid laser and I'm happy with it but IMHO the slope/TGR/temp/alt settings are not of real value... Save yourself some $ and get the GX1i2.

Finally had the chance to use the altitude setting... Went and played Primland, by the way if you are anywhere near this course and are willing to pay some coin to play... Do it... Well worth the price tag. Primland sits at 3000 ft above sea level and Richmond is about 400 ft so a fairly big difference and wow was the TGR reading spot on all day for everyone in my group.... Honestly it was kind of spooky how accurate it was especially for downhill shots. Needless to say, I was impressed.
