are these the pinnacle of iron shafts?

I'm a 10 handicap and I'm getting my first real set of irons within the next few weeks. I've heard a ton about these. I was thinking of putting these shafts in based on how much I've heard. For reference, I've hit a S300 DG SL in a Snake Eyes 7-iron on a mid trajectory. I had very good control with it, as well. Would the S3 Tour Concept play smoother/softer than the DG SL?

you almost have to try one every persons ideal feel is different.

i have tried them in a few of my irons and they are smooth. i haven't tried the SL but they are smoother than x100s and s300s. for me the fact that they are flighted making the long irons go higher isn't really working for me. they have the tendancy to balloon a little for me at times. they might suit your swing better but for me i think they aren't quite stiff enough at the x1 flex. go get fit and they might be able to tell from your numbers if they will work for you. best way to find out, try one yourself.

they worked pretty good for me, with the whole flighted thing, i tend to be a little low on my trajectory, but they felt a little soft to me, they worked well and i might go back to them sometime, but not for a little bit.

verdict= good shafts, definatly a step above the SL's, just try them out

did you gain any control with these over DGs? I like the whole idea of uniform weighing, too.

The Dynamic Gold S300 and the S3 Tour Concept's are both constant weight shafts. The only difference is the material used and the Tour Concepts are a flighted shaft and the Dynamic Gold's are not. The 3 iron should feel softer in the Tour Concept and more harsh in the PW then the Dynamic Gold shafts. Expensive shaft and there are absolutely no discounts because this is a True Temper Tour product. $60 (installed) for the painted and $45 (installed) for the unpainted. That price per shaft!
