Took a mandatory 2 weeks break

...and now it feels better...

So, I had my Lasik surgery done last week...same place where Tiger Woods got his done. First, let me say...it absolutely ROCKS! No more glasses! I could never wear contacts because they would bother the hell out of my eyes. It's been a week since my procedure and I never in my life, had vision like I have right now... no joke..

Anyways, so I finally went to play 9 holes on a normal long 9 course. I don't know how I did it, or why I did it... but I shot my personal best ever of 45! I couldn't believe it when my friend added up my scores.

Everything was going right for me.. especially my chiping game. I said before, that I made some adjustments in my chiping game...and now I see it pays off. I think maybe because I took almost 2 weeks off from playing and just took it easy when I went out yesterday. Everyting felt good.. the swing, pitching.. puting...everything was nice. I even had 3 shots right on the green from 170-200 yards...

Had few problems...since I don't have a driver...I used my 3 wood...I really had the ball on the tee not high at all, but I would hit this crazy high shot, that would end up very close :) What saved me was my 7 iron since I was hitting it good.

I guess Tiger was right when he said Lasik took 5 strokes of his game :russian_roulette:

Anyways, I thought I would share this..It's a big thing for me to break 50 barrier...

My family has a history of wearing glasses but so far i've got away with it. I'm sure it's only a matter of time though so i'm always intrigued to hear about corrective surgery.

 

There isn't a driver/wedge/putter in the world that will take that many strokes off your game so quickly (despite what the marketing guru's would like us to believe) so you've probably made the best possible investment!

villa, this Lasik thing, is the best thing I ever did...worth every penny. I can see better than I did with my glasses... and they were new!

 

I had what they call, custom wavefront procedure, basically mapped out custom to your eyes. Since I couldn't see far, but I could see close...what they did was "For further distance"...I can see for freaking miles now. Technology is amazing...

 

Whole thing took maybe 45 seconds, if that. Longest part was me actually laying down...

Good for you. I had it done 3 years ago and it was the BEST decision i have ever made. No side effects, just great clear vision. It didn't really help my golf game, but playing it a light rain means nothing now.

I've also had lasik, although it was before I took up golf. most people just wouldn't understand how crazy it is to need glasses one day and the next be able to see better than you ever did with glasses. but, of course, with nothing on your face.

 

I imagine, however, with your short game, the culprit might have been the glasses. depending on where you are looking through the lense your perseption can chance, and with short game being all about feel and letting your body react to the shot's needs, I bet glasses might have thrown you off a little without you even knowing it.

 

or maybe not. either way its a good thing!
