Does golf change its tune with a president Trump

If the mods want to lock this feel free. This really isn't political,the question needs to be asked. If we end up with Mr. Trump as president, do all the golf organizations that distanced themselves from him over the last year come back?

Yes, and I think they were right to distance themselves ahead of this. They are a business they gotta look out for what could possibly harm public perception. Now obviously now that the nation has spoken I think they could easily reup their commitments with trump courses. I don't think Doral would be that high on their priority as there isn't a lot special about that course imo, just the event.

 

And I agree I don't think this is a question on politics but rather business, but I could easily see how it could take a rather nasty turn.

I thought the remodel improved the course and the tournament this year was great. We had 7 or 8 guys within a couple shots with a few holes left to play on Sunday. #18 provided plenty of drama.

The Brexit vote made me realize that anything was possible in the US election. That Brexit vote came as a big shock to me, although that's partly because I have lived outside the UK for the best part of 20 years and so was detached from the current mood.

 

Edit: As for the OP's original question, going back to their commitments with Trump courses is still going to be related to politics (seen as backing his presidency), but the reverse could also be said if they refuse to have anything to do with him. Either way, some people will complain. They always do.
