The club pro is out until Thursday. I am playing in a tourney out there this weekend, so I will get the details from him, in terms of how many we can get on.

I'm interested in the outting, but the $98 fee is a bit steep. Anyway we can get that lower?

 

It looks like we're in the same boat. We probably should start a separate thread for the same or different date with a more reasonable cost course. What do you think about doing that?

I'll play anywhere, but since I live on the West side, I'm usually out this way. The Frog and the Lion are my favorites on this side. Arbor Springs and Durham Lakes to the south west are nice. There are just too many good courses to type that are all over the place.

i've seen some people wanting a less costly outing...I'm a member at Cartersville Country Club and believe it's an absolute diamond in the rough. It's not very well known, but is always in FANTASTIC shape!!! Private club, but guests are only $60...I'm sure I could get a few of my buddies that'd want to play and have a few foursomes if anyone ever wanted to venture that 'far' from Atlanta. Much nicer course than Barnsley Gardens or Bentwater which get most the notoriety in this area (haven't yet played Governor's Towne Club, so I can't comment on it)!

Seems to me the price is more than fair to play a course as nice as The Georgia Tech Club.

 

I don't think anyone doubts that...it seems fair to me also. I know of MANY courses that charge more and aren't as nice as the GT Club...I was just mentioning an option for any time in the future. I've always been in the golf business (up until now), so it's HARD for me to pay to play anywhere

 

Luckily, an private club membership was negotiated into my compensation when I took my job :cheesy:

Here is the update:

 

I talked with GT Club and we can get out there on Saturday or Sunday. I need to know which day and what timeframe (morning or afternoon).

 

The only "blocked" tee times are Saturday from 10-11 due to the womens club championship.

 

So, please respond in this thread with a preference on the day and the time...and I will book the tee times.

Course is closed today, Monday. I was out of town all weekend. I will call on Tuesday morning to nail down a time. The window to tee off is between Sunday morning to Sunday around lunch.

Bad news guys! My wife has had something come up this weekend, and I am having to participate in her event.

Yeah. It might be better to set it up for a public or semi-private venue. So if something comes up like this again and the member can't make it at the last minute, everyone else is still good to go.
