Good luck from the blacks... slope of 154? Jeebus!

I'm not sure the group playing behind me would want my short knocking (250ish drives) 10.8 hcp self playing from the blacks. It would be a collection of Par 5's and Par 6's for me :russian_roulette: All the 4's but two would have me bringing in 19* and 22* hybrids into the green... and that's assuming I struck my drive well!

I did manage a 48 from the tips on the front side at Schoolmaster in at the Muscle Shoals Trent Jones location before I moved up two tee boxes to the orange tees (~4100 from the tips on the front side... ~7900 78/143). Hitting a well struck driver on the 265 yard Par 3 #6 and still not reaching the green was an interesting golf experience I would never want to repeat. I had to play all the 470+ par 4's as par 5's... driver wedge wedge.

Ok...here's the deal. I talked with GT Club, and they said that this could be done. Looking at my calendar, the only open weekend on the horizon is August 11 or 12 (Saturday or Sunday).

Give some feedback on whether one of those 2 days would work for you. If need be, we could do this on a weekday, but a number have already said weekends work best.

So, check you calendars for either Saturday, 8/11 or Sunday, 8/12. (again, this is only if we want to get together at GT Club)

$98 on the weekend for guests

Count me in for sure, August 11 or 12 works for me. I've heard nothing but great things about this course.

Okay....based on a "once over count" of interest, both passing and committed I count 22. Someone might want to check that. Given the complexity of all of us living all over the place and not really knowing one another completely, again I will take email addresses or we can firm up on here. In any event I will help with meeting & greeting on the day of the event to informally get everyone together.

TheBoom...can we get a committment from GT? I will take a stab here and say Saturday the 11th at whatever time we can get what appears to be 5 groups. Adjoining tee times would be nice because then we can ridicule each other (okay...teasing there). I am figuring out of the 22 we will have 20 make it.

I spoke with GT Club, and the August tee time sheets should be coming out in the next few days. Once they do, I will book 4-5 foursomes, and we are set. I will get with them also on our time options. The womens club championship is that weekend, but that should not be a big deal, as there will not be a "large" number of participants.

We can make this event as big as you guys want to. We could order in a meal, or just do golf, or whatever else you guys have in mind.

Once I get the time and date set, then we are good to go. I will not worry about pre-payment, we will just each pay individually once at the club.

Once I get all this above set, I will try and get everyone's contact info and such...

I know TheBoom has it on his signature...but here is a weblink that you can check out the holes one at a time....quite a course. I am not sure what yardages they are quoting...I am hoping the tips...but no par 3's under 190, and one is 254 yards. A par 4 at 508 followed by a par 5 that is less than 20 yards longer.

Hmmmm playing from the tips...sure (desparately trying to find his box of condor brand golfballs)

Yeah...those distances are from the tips. I have never played from the "blacks". I play the blues and golds which are still no easy undertaking.

Please count me in for either the 11th or 12th of August. I may bring a another if that is ok. So count me as two. By the way, I played Lanier Golf Club for the first time yesterday. It used to be private but the owners have sold out to developers. All you can play on Mondays for $35! Teed off at 3:20 and played about 30 holes. Could have snuck in 6 more but my wife called and said that's enough.

In case you are interested the club is off Buford Dam Road near the Lake Lanier Park entrance (not the entrance where the two Lanier Golf courses are).

I don't think that will be a problem, but then again 284 is better than your 240-260. :russian_roulette:

But I think this time instead of driving down there for 8.5 hours during the night, hitting 300+ balls to warm up, then hitting, I will get down there the night before for proper rest, eat a nice meal before warming up and not hit as many balls, maybe even challenge you to a left handed driver longball contest. You up to it?
