Very nice designs. Done for Maxfli in 1991. I then kept tools and still have some heads minus Maxfli in satin chrome. Not legal grooves for USGA but I don't think most people care. Enjoy

No one cares about USGA rules in New Zealand - at least I don't :-)

 

Love satin chrome - wish more irons had it.

 

Tad - is satin chrome a finish that is more work (and thus cost) to produce? Or is it just that bright chrome is more popular with the customer?

I had a set of these but didn't like them much. I love the Tad Moore (by Dunlop) Satin wedges though. I have them in 56, 58, & 60.

The satin finish is more costly. Anything bright is less cost

What is the difference between this series of TMXX wedges and the Maxfli Tad Moore wedges that have the loft on the sole and then either 'Approach', 'Sand' or 'Utility' Wedge written of the rear of the blade? Are they both forged? It looks to me like they are very similar.

Well I am sorry I have done so many wedges I would have to see the ones you have. The Maxfli and the heads I have minus Maxfli are same. I then did another group of wedges fir Maxfli in 1994-5 that once again I made without Maxfli. These were cast.

Hi Tad, the two different styles I have seen are the wedge shown in the opening post and related TM53 and TM 57 models and then the heads shown in this thread/sale post.

They look very similar at first glance but different markings. Are the heads in the link the later cast version? Are they the same grind/design?
