St. Andrews in August 2017

Is anybody gonna be in St. Andrews on August 14th? We are going to be in Scotland for a Scotch drinking tour, but set aside one day for golf. Hoping to get on to the old course as a walk on, and 18 on the new course or Jubilee. There will be 2 of us. Plus is anybody has any tips for getting out on the Old Course would be appreciated.

We are going in May w two foursomes. Only one has a tee time. The other group is going to try and make the daily ballot. We will be there 7 days and have 3 days to try and make it in. Remember, you need to put in for the ballot 2 days in advance.

August is their busiest month. Good luck! Where are you going scotch tasting? From my brief research, I see there is only one near St Andrews, Kingsbarns, and it's a relatively new distillery. We'd all like to find some scotch distilleries to tour but don't want to drive too far.

We are meeting a friend couple days later who doesnt golf for scotch tour in northern part of Scotland. Then fly to Ireland.

I played the Old Course for the first time a couple of weeks back. I only live about 2 hours away, but despite many many times entering the draw online I had no success. I decided to phone my draw entry in and give the administrator person some good chat. Whether or not that secured us the successful ballot slot or if it was just coincidence, I have no idea!

I will actually be there the 14th, we have a tee time on the New course sometime around noon but I hope for your sake you are already finishing your first 18 and getting ready to go back out
