Hey just wanted to pass along this site i found that sells knock off clubs and as you can see they are preatty close to the real thing. I believe this is a japan website or china but I watched quite a few folks pay over 200.00 for a set of knockoff cleveland cg10 wedges on ebay so anyways they are out there be aware who you buy from.

http://www.saga24.com/

Good example you can buy knockoff FT5 drivers for 240.00 and less on that site.. Just wanted to pass that site along so you can see how easy it is to get knockoff clubs and alot of those are circulating on ebay from the resellers

yea they are really good counterfits the reason i found the site is because i was actually looking at buying the wedges and after some research i found out the ones i was looking at were knockoffs purchased from this site. You have to really pay close attention to the text on the clubs with the wedges there was some writing that was actually larger on these fakes then on the real cleveland ones so yea just wanted everyone to see how close the knockoffs really are and they are out there just be aware and do your research before you buy thankfully i did mine first and i would say the only safe bet is to buy from reputable ebay sellers/stores or local stores golf galaxy etc... peace of mind is worth the little bit of extra price

Always remember that if a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Seems funny that a site like this could operate without Callaway or some other manufacturer closing it down, if they are indeed fakes. You really can't tell a thing from the photos because they could be fakes too.

You can be very careful and still get burnt on a fake from eBay. Even serial numbers, now, are no guarantee of authenticity because they are even copying those. I do know Callaway and others are watching eBay for counterfeits but it's impossible to catch them all.

The prices, on that link, seem close to what I would expect wholesale to be so it's really hard to say what the deal is there. If indeed counterfeits, I sure would like to know how it can stay up and running without legal action from the major manufacturers here. Sure has become a huge problem for everyone.

Until a club is deemed non-conforming, its legal for play. I don't think that's the point of this post though.

As always, Callaway Golf is already aware of this site and is investigating it along with several others that have came to light recently.

That's good to hear!!

Callaway Rogue ST Max LS w/Tensei Orange // Callaway Epic Flash 3W w/GD Tour AD IZ-7 // Adams Idea Pro a12 w/UST VTS //

Callaway X Forged 2018 5-PW w/PX Catalyst 100 // Callaway JAWS MD5 50* 54* 58* & Full Toe 64* w/PX Catalyst 80 // Odyssey O-Works #7 Tank 38"

The pics on the website are of the fake clubs... though they look almost too real. The tm drivers weights look real, much unlike the typical fake tm drivers... scary

lol, well real tm drivers kind of look fake to begin with anyway.

ahh, the confusion!

it sucks -- some sites are really difficult to close down because they may be based in other countries. the mpaa has been trying forever (unsuccessfully) to close down www.thepiratebay.com. they're almost powerless. tpb is pretty cavalier about it too... so much so that they posted all the legal threats they get on their website, haha.

IMHO there's a lot more that Callaway and the other OEMs should be doing about counterfeiting. I realize that they can't always publish this information on their websites, but these forums are a great way of disseminating information. It would certainly go beyond the usual "do not buy from anyone but authorised dealers yadda yadda"

I for one have been badly burnt by fakes and am now extremely uncomfortable buying anything unless it comes from a brick and mortar shop. even so, it would have to be someone reasonably big (i.e. someone I can sue to get my money back)

I COULD buy only from authorised distributors, or I could turn to less often faked brands like the components or tour edge etc. The OEMs stand to lose out this way as well.

Ok, I'll admit, OEMs are trying hard, and there are practical limits to what they can do, but the whole process of Ho-ing clubs has been spoiled for me.

Just so I don't thread jack, that website sucks :partytime2:

Does anyone think that some of these might be real, but slipped out the back door of manufacturer? Items like those are still claimed to be counterfeit by TaylorMade and such. Most of it is so close that there's no way that you could ever tell, which is very scary.

The worst looking, and best way to tell if the entire lot is fake, is the TM rescue duals. For some reason, these fakers never really got a good looking model of these out, the ports for the weight arent deep enough and the area around them isnt rounded well at all. If you look at a seller on ebay and they are selling those and they look counterfeit, STAY AWAY.

It's china folks. And China is communist. One thing they don't recognize in china... "Intellectual property". Once it's in china, it's property of the state.

Hence the issue with duplication and copying. Every company doing business in china is dealing with this. Its what they get for doing business in a communist regime to get cheap labor. There are even "fake" mercedes cars being sold in china, and there's nothing mercedes can do to stop it.

And china won't stop it, they make more money on the "fake" merchandise because more of the profits are derived in china.

rant over

I actually came across this site while researching the cleveland wedges but the CG11's one thing is the US patent text is bolder and also compare the spacing between the C and the G is more of a gap than the real version

Also china/japan are known for the biggest knockoff production in the world. Ever been to china town in nyc in cali? Anyone that knows designers knows ebay and even local markets in the us are flooded with fake Louis Vuitton, Prada, Versace etc.. It is very sad but there is not much you can do I mean as long as there is a demand for high dollar products there will always be fakes but i just wanted to shed some light from this site to compare how close they are I mean the new callaway driver is 500+ and they are selling them for as low as 210.00 I would think you have would have to be a license callaway retailer to even get the drivers at wholesale cost and if they are reselling them at 210.00 how much are they paying from the through callaway? I have asked around and most golf stores dont make that much of a profit off the equipment they sale except for the the bigger stores im sure.
