Torrey Hilton vs The Lodge

Doing a quick Mid week getaway and wanted to get thoughts on if staying at the Lodge is worth it over staying at the Hilton. The Lodge is double the price. Is there anything other than proximity and overall experience that make the Lodge for attractive? Also, the Hilton has told me that you can book tee times through them for both N & S courses? Any lodging suggestions would be welcomed and appreciated. We live in LA so will be driving down and therefore will have a car.

Hilton is decent. There's also a Hyatt a few miles away on the same street with a bunch of nice attached restaurants.

The Lodge is very warm, it draws you in. Everyone there is very professional and courteous. Service was very good. Stayed there last year with the fam overlooking the 18th green and we had a blast on a lazy weekend getaway. Didn't play golf but walked along the 18th hole. That's about as close to playing golf as it gets for me lately.

Never stayed at the Hilton nearby so can't comment but if the Lodge is twice as much as the Hilton, it's just a matter of how much you wanna spend on service and memories.

The lodge is nice, and it's got that luxury feel, But it's not really anything special.

The hilton next door is solid. The rooms are bigger, and they are plenty nice.

They've got a large bar downstairs, they do special happy hour events with craft beers and wines outside. Food is good as well.

Usually 1/3 the price and, you can walk right down and over to the lodge.

The price seems to make it a no brainer. It looks the only real upside to the lodge is it's literally right on the N & S courses?

I thought about booking the lodge and it was crazy expensive. Also when booking a round thru the lodge was more expensive ($303) than the city website price ($240) even if u include the advanced booking fee of $40.

The Hilton is right next door to the lodge. It sits along the 18th fairway of the south course. You're talking about the difference or maybe a football field to the club house.

Honestly, the only upside to staying at the lodge is being able to say you've stayed there.

Don't get me wrong, it's a 5 diamond hotel, and it's beautiful, some of the suites are really awesome.

But, the standard rooms are pretty basic. I prefer the standard rooms at the Hilton especially when you consider the difference in price
