My Low Tide refinish

I bought a Low Tide last year from a great member here. I really wanted to try a Low Tode and found a decent deal on the BST. I bought it knowing that it was refinished professionally in a red powder coat, the sight line filled in, and a sight dot added. I really enjoyed the dot as opposed to the sight line but by the end of the season, I had switched back to my old putter as I really didn't like the finish.

So, I mulled it over and decided to try my hand at refinishing it myself.

After getting the head pulled off, I researched how to cheaply get the finish back to original. I found a thread saying that oven cleaner will remove powder coat. Well, it doesn't. Here are a few pics.

Alright, so after that failure, I sought out another option. Found an industrial sand blaster that agreed to take on my project. I wasn't sure what to expect and when I first saw the putter I thought I ruined it as they absolutely blasted it. I thought they could vary the blast pressure or grain size (i know nothing on the subject so it was really wishful thinking!). Anywho...here is the putter after the sand blast:

 

 

 

Well, now it was time to grind. I got my supplies and started at it. I have never done anything like this before so m initial techniques were really rough but I got better the more passes I went on it. I also grinded off the sight line to leave just the sight dot. Putter head orinially weighed 359g and after all the grinding and sanding it weighed 354g. Here's some progress pics:

 

 

 

After a bunch of grinding and sanding, I decided I wanted to try and torch it. Having never done anything like this before, I did a bit of research and found a good guide. Here's some pics of where I stopped the torch:

 

 

 

I wanted a cool colour to bounce off som of the blues and purples so I went with a nice bright yellow:

 

 

 

Now to re-shaft. I had planned on a UST freq. double-bend shaft but now she m thinking I want a single bend shaft so that's is on order and the grip will be a GP SNSR grip. I plan to add 25-30g of tungsten powder in the shaft as well.
