Preparing for this year's (2017-2018) fantasy football season

How's everyone's drafts going? I had my first one last night. I'm kinda weak at RB. I could use some advice on whether or not I should make a trade.

 

I feel you. I'm super weak at RB this year. My starters are Ty Montgomery and CJ Anderson. Ouch.

I'm not far off. I've got CJ Anderson/Montgomery as my starters, then also have Coleman, Lacy (the other side of your Rawls), and Paul Perkins. I think Anderson should have a decent enough year. Montgomery scares me a little. I like the potential, but need to see actual production first.

It was an auction draft and I was planning on going all in on Kareem Hunt since he was still available late. I got in a bidding war with one other guy. My internet momentarily crapped out and he got him for $31 while I was prepared to go up to $40 ?

Did you do any tier rankings before the draft? That is the best way to get a deep team in my opinion.

Yes I put together a really thorough spreadsheet with my own auction prices amd tiers at every position. Once I dropped $90 between Evans and Cooks I knew not to spend more than $35-40 on an RB, especially that early, when I hadn't grabbed a single QB yet. Unfortunately all the RB's I liked were going more in the $45-50 range.

You're going to have to explain how, in a 10 team league, you drafted DJ, Freeman, Jordy, Rodgers, and Allen. Depending on when the draft happened I know Hunt could have been later, but those first 5 you basically have two 1st rounders, two 2nd rounders, and a 3rd rounder. Kudos.

Actually no, and it's a competitive league.

 

I did not draft DJ. We have no IR spot and the owner decided to drop him. He was a FA and I have such a deep team I decided to drop Alvin Kamara to let him sit on my bench because I'm fairly certain unless I run into some bad matchups I will easily make the playoffs with this team.

 

Picked at number 6, took Freeman there. Coming back 2nd round I took Nelson. Third round I took Rodgers. 4th I took Hyde and then Allen in the 5th. People are scared of Allen because of his injury history. We were literally drafting when the news about Ware's injury came across Twitter and I was the only one who happened to catch it I guess. I got Hunt in the 11th round lol. Mixon I traded Abdullah for.

We always draft late due to injuries that occur in the pre-season. My last draft was the Wednesday before the first game. Hunt was taken with the 2nd pick in the 2nd round (#14 overall)!!!

Your RBs are not good. Having Miller as an RB1 is not good. That's your down fall. Trade off some of your WR depth for a better RB. Diggs value is sky high right now could get a solid RB1 for him to a WR needy team.

I'm in 4th in one league and have 100 points more than anyone else. Other league I'm in second but have now lost Dalvin Cook, ODB, and Allen Robinson for the season.
