Up until now I didn't really see the harm in illegal steroid use but after viewing this? It would seem to me the shortened recovery time from workouts, and the building of muscle mass from their use isn't worth the risk.

So if you roid up chances are you can improve the 10% of pro golf game that is physical and do so at great risk to your personal health.

 

How are you going to handle the 90% of the pro game that is mental?

I'm 58, don't work out every day but do have a full workout schedule that I've been doing for the past 14 years-started 45 years ago but have been doing pretty much the same workout only for the past 14. I hit over a thousand balls a day a bunch of days this past year-no big deal at all. I've never taken steroids in my life. Heck, I've never taken any suppliments (can't even spell it). Vijay.......ha!ha! His swing is way smoother than mine so I'm sure he has a much easier time at it than I do and it's no big deal to me.

 

To me it's hilarious that someone would think that Vijay is on steroids.

 

No one in golf, other than maybe some longdrive guys, looks like they are on steroids to me.

 

If you breathe hard going up steps or run up accellerating with a smile on your face when you get to the top because it feels good, then there is probably going to be a difference in how much work hitting a thousand balls a day is to you. It's really very little relative to a lot of other things. I doubt Vijay even can run up steps like that.

edited Saturday afternoon: I just came in the house after installing a new fence charger and lightning arrestor for it, which included the job of pounding in 7 - 5/8"x8' ground rods-we have really hard ground and each rod required over a hundred hits. This job involved a t-post type fence pounder but the last 4 feet each had to be finished with a 20 and a 12 pound sledge hammer. My helper, who is a right big guy who can bench press over 400 lbs. and I had several good laughs over someone talking about hitting a thousand golfballs being something like work. I can't swing the 20 pounder all the way over but do with the 12. After finishing I hit a few balls with the driver and found this to be a really good warmup for hitting the driver but I don't think I would be worth a damn with a putter right now.
