Any opinions on the courses in Redmond? Headed down next weekend and want to play one of the days.

Many golf courses in the area are aerifying late Sept, early Oct. this year because of the long drought we had . Just starting to see moisture moved in recently.

Redmond has the Willows Run Golf Complex , 36 holes of link style golf. The longer 18 { Eagle Talons ) will be sanding the green the first week of October and the shorter 18 ( Coyote Creek) will be sanding the greens the 3rd week of the October.

The Golf Club at Redmond Ridge, belongs to the Oki Group, not sure about their maintenance schedule, but their early bird rate is reasonable for Winter if you're up to a lower temperature starting time.

 

Near by you'll have Bellevue Municipal ( always crowded and be ready to spend close to 5 hours there ). The golf club at Echo Falls in Snohomish County ( belong to Oki Group ) a shorter and tighter track.

 

Several private golf and country clubs near by , if you're a member of a private golf club, maybe you could get reciprocal rounds at a fee ( have your head pro to call and arrange for it ). I would get on the Sahalee ( North and the South ).

between eagles talon and redmond ridge what is preferred?

Two very different golf course. Eagles Talon is a link style, situated in the valley, Open up quite a bit since the management decided to cut down the rough and remove knee high fescue around and greens. To speed up the play and maximize the profit.

Redmond Ridge has trees, has elevation changes and some hole requires target golf. A typical NW golf course. But at a slightly higher cost even for early bird rate and quite a bit more green fees for prime tee time. I would not recommend to walk this golf course if you're not physically fit ( think their fees including golf cart ? Not sure )

 

I played the Willows Run regularly since I purchase membership there and have not played the Redmond Ridge for more than a year since I did not purchase the Oki membership for several years now. Plus I like to walk whenever I could because the years of riding golf cart is not that far away for me. Really dislike the golf courses not friendly for walking.

 

Make sure you call ahead for the maintenance schedule of sanding and aerifying. Time your travel during the weekdays since traffic is a big issue here with the high tech campus near by. Redmond Ridge is within a huge housing development so traffic with road maintenance could cause long delay in travel time.

I'll be out to Willows Run Tuesday to play with a bunch of senior friends.
