Booking St. Andrews New?

I'll be in Scotland this August, and fortunately have most of my rounds for the trip booked. Going on the St. Andrews Links site, though, I've been unable to book anything on the New, or the Jubilee for that matter. The only availability that comes up for my dates is for the Castle and some of other smaller courses. How does booking for the New work? I'll be there as a single - will I be able to get on the New without an issue in August?

Depending on the dates you go, have a look at the Eden Trophy, first practice day is on sunday 12th, then comp days 13th/14th and 15th, all for £130, and all rounds on the New, Eden and then i think there is a round on the Jubilee depending where you finish

Reading the fine print, you have to have at least two golfers to book a time on the New or Jubilee. Be sure to check the busy dates here:

I've never been there in August, but I'd bet that you wouldn't have a problem finding a group that will let you join them, as long as you're not there on a tournament day.

Walked up with a member at 9am mid August last year out within 10 minutes. Played the Old at 3:45 pretty much a perfect day

Also, in August it will be light until 9.30/10pm. Good chance they will let you out at the end of the bookable time slots.
