Club Champion, a golf club fitting and building company

Recommended Posts

A new Club Champion opened up in a strip mall. Has anyone gone through this experience? It seems on the expensive side for the fitting. I am not sure how much their custom built clubs compares to going to your local retailer. They use Callaway, TaylorMade, Ping, Titleist, PXG clubs. They have bold claims about adding yardage and shaving strokes. Any experiences out there? For the high capper, are they just adapting the clubs to a poor swing?

If you search the forums I’m sure you will find a variety of opinions. I got my dad a full bag fitting a few years ago, and it was good for what it was. They tried to up-sell him on a variety of shafts. In fact, they didn’t even suggest the stock shaft until he asked to hit them. Low and behold, the stock shafts performed just as good if not better than anything from their exotic selection. Results may vary. My dad is the type of golfer that fits into a large variety of heads and shafts. He can hit mostly anything without much difference. Some people might benefit from the exotic shafts more so than him. I was just disappointed he had to practically beg them to let him hit the stock offerings. Needless to say he didn’t buy through them. But the fitting was well worth the money because it saved him from buying a bunch of stuff he didn’t need.

Tanner my man, you've got 5500 posts and don't know how to search? Have been a TON of threads on this.

Got it, jut111. I see you posted, Jan 2017. Well, what do you think now? Did you save any strokes?

I wouldn't go back. Impossible to say if I've saved strokes, I've improved but I believe thats from hard work on my game. I often practice with my old clubs and notice no difference.

Now before one of there shills jumps into this thread, I did not purchase my clubs through them as I felt the price was borderline outrageous, but did source them on my own based on their recommendations. Mind you their recommendations consisted of head and shaft - I was not fitted or asked about swing weight, length, lie angle etc.

I also have my doubts about indoor fittings in general, I'd really want to see true ballflight if I were to be fitted again.

Personally, and this is just my opinion, I get a bit of a used car salesmen vibe from them. I don't know, just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

there's only one true way to get fitted..... buy a bunch of clubs in the WRX classified section, try them out on the course, keep 1/2, and sell back the rest, lol.

Usually, newly opened stores have a 50% off full bag fittings for the first few months.

Ive done the full CC experience. While super expensive. I dont regret it. I have quit ho'ing because of it.

I just went through full bag fitting at CC. I didn't get the set from them but thought it was a good experience and education on what I might want. Unfortunately for me that might only further enabling educated ho'ing

One of the best things I did for my game. I was hesitant on indoor fitting as well but everything I saw on the launch monitor translated outside and helped win me over. With that, I did not purchase anything from them, I did it all on my own since I have the ability and equipment. I've seen improvement in my game, I hit more fairways, more consistent ball flight, I'm pin high more often. I have the confidence to know with 100% certainty that there's no variables in the shot other than than me putting a good swing on the ball.
