Design your own Driver

Base don the interest on my post of the 3D printed driver I was wondering if anybody would be interested in designing their own driver? I can get it printed once you are happy with the design (just cover material and postage) or I can assist you to get a file that you can use to get it print locally wherever you reside.

 

I can post some guidelines to assist and then we see what the members come up with?

 

You can use any design software (there are quite a few online). The easiest one to use is www.tinkercad.com and it's free.

 

Driver head dimensions:

Width: 110cm

Depth: 120cm

Height: 60cm

 

Weight of material used must be around 220g or less. Core material suggested to be ABS.

 

The head must be designed in two sections, A core and an outer casing. This is because we need to do the layering perpendicular to strengthen the shaft area and prevent sheering of the layers. The challenge is to have as much material behind the impact zone, but also to remove weight from the center of the club to improve MOI. Also remove from the top to lower the COG.
