At some point having teenagers play and make cuts on the pga tour will become non special this weeks contestant 16yr old Blades Brown is a birdie machine with a record -22 at the  2023 Tennessee Junior Amateur Championship a 54 hole event.

If teenagers can get kicked black and blue by grown-a** men and still score goals and make tackles in the Premier League there's certainly no reason to think it would be odd for a teenaged golf phenom to shoot a couple of great golf scores in a PGA Tour event!

Course is awesome for an opposite field event 

 

Wind will blow first 2 days, green complexes are tricky especially on cross wind putts

It would be great for an opposite field event not have to be -21 or more to win.

Wesley has been in near-elite form lately.  George hasn't quite been there (like the end of last year), but isn't far off. I think Wesley has a good chance, like in Punta Cana.

Was also low score at the US Am last year at Cherry Hills in stroke play.

I don't think there is any serious wind (yet) and the course is as soft as it's ever going to be. That's like playing darts for these guys. I don't even think it's a particularly long course by modern standards so the lack of driver rollout is no biggie.

Can OP clarify whether he plans to indiscriminately lock this thread later as he has done with other "official" event threads he has started in the past?

I hope the producers know that the Bryan Brothers are the biggest stars of this event and show lots of tv coverage for the both of them like they do for Jordan Spieth lol.

Forgot it was at the Dunes, great course. Much better than TPC MB.

it doesn’t cost any money to leave it. i don’t think people appreciate being managed what or when to post.

I would agree with that in a tournament thread for a tour I’m not gonna risk naming. For this one, doubt it’s an issue. But it’s ur thread so you can obviously do what u wanna 😊

Teed off just after 12, from 2pm until 630/7 it was blowing 25-30

 

14 was brutal. The place is tough and very good for an opposite field event

It looks like George is going to miss the cut but Wesley is going to make it (assuming he doesn't implode on the final three holes of the day).

But Wesley will need to go Low tomorrow to get into contention. He's 7 back of the lead (-3 to -10).

 

Cut line -1, George is +2 with only 4 holes left.
