putting with her eyes closed

Not sure if this belongs here, but...

I was watching the Samung this afternoon, and it was mentioned that lately she's been putting everything inside 20 ft. with her eyes closed. Of course, the one shot they did get of her face, her eyes were clearly open, but still....

Anyway, they said she did this all the way through her recent Solheim Cup appearance. I like the outside-the-box thinking, but is this too outside-the-box? Or is there a chance she's really onto something?

Just curious what everyone thinks? ;)

again its a great drill but I have never known anyone having anylong term success with it. It about like the looking at the hole thread.

 

Simply stated its a great way to take the hit out of the stroke.

 

You want to try something really fun hit some wedges on the range with your eyes closed. Let me give you a hint it is not easy.

 

But its a great learning drill

I think she was playing with the announcer because the cameras never caught her putting with her eyes closed. Maybe used it for practice but never was seen during the round.

Its hard to be critical of anyone that good but have you noticed that huge oversize putter she uses? Between the size of that putter, and this story about eyes closed, I have to suspect that putting may be the weaker part of her game and she is experimenting with different ways to improve it.

During the Solheim, they showed her sinking a 6-8 footer with her eyes closed.

to solve my putting woes i would look at the hole throughout the putting stroke, guess this is the same

If you're a right-handed player, I've heard of closing your left eye while putting in order to help keep your head down and follow through the stroke, waiting for the ball to at least hit the cup.

 

I haven't seen the photos or video in question, but I would imagine it's hard for cameras to show BOTH of her eyes during the putting stroke, so perhaps she only has one closed?

I can barely sleep with my eyes closed let alone putt. ;)
