Firestone, includes North Course Review

My son and I made the pilgrimage to Firestone Country Club. Home to numerous professional golf tournaments over the years and three golf courses. We decided to go all in and stay over nite on the property. There are two options; villas or dorm rooms in the men's locker room. We decided on the dorm rooms. Upon check in we were whisked away to our room by one of the locker room attendants who explained the set up. The room is a basic hotel room with two beds, closet, drawers, a chair and lots of memorabilia. It offered a view of the North Course and was in the locker room.

The bathroom and shower are shared with the locker room. You also have the bar in the locker room and those plush seats. And you are assigned a locker for your trip. It is a great experience if you want to immerse yourself in golf.

 

We also ate dinner and breakfast in the main restaurant and had dogs prior to our round. The food was very good and above the normal country club experience.

 

Our first day we hit the North Course. It should be stated that all three courses are very different. The North Course weaves around the reservoir and has a ton of water. There is even an island green. Some people believe this is the superior golf course on the property. And for only a cart fee for us Club Corp members it is a great deal. We started on the 10 tee. There is a lot of water on the back nine, bring extra balls. The conditioning was top notch even though the course received a lot of rain the prior week. And I must say it was busy the day we played but the pace of play was outstanding. Please enjoy the pictures.

 

 

At the end of the day we retired to the locker room, had a few beers and relaxed in the robes we were provided prior to dinner.
