Srixon u65 shaft help.

Currently I have a u65 with the Miyazaki Kailua 7 with the 5445 flex code (I think). It feels like a noodle. My 6i Speed caps at 93. I play px 5.5 in my irons and they generate a straight ball flight that's mid to high with ballooning.

I want to put the same shaft into my u65 heads, but unsure of what to do. Considering soft stepping as I'm afraid a three and four iron shaft will be too much for me, but I also don't want noodle feel that I'm getting from graphite.

Any input?

Aldila NVS 85 hybrid shaft. Comes in .355 tapered. I use it in my U65 4 and 5 iron in lieu of the Miyazaki. Play it to the same length as per Srixon. Very unnoodlely(?).

6i speed at 93, that's PX 6.0 speed. I don't think you should soft step for your U65, unless you want to launch higher and spin more .... but you complaining about your Miyazaki stiff-regular being too soft.

Think I should just go straight in with no soft stepping then? I am reluctant to go to 6.0 because I'm usually tired by the back nine and everything slows down.

Might be a dumb question, but can I just cut the 2 iron shaft I bought down to 3i length to retain the qualities of the 5.5?

That would be a hard-step, and you'd fall between a 5.5 and a 6.0 if you did that.

FWIW I have the U85 3-iron, and I put an X100 3 iron shaft straight in. Play stiff in my irons but X in my woods, and decided since its mostly a tee club I wanted it to match that swing instead of my iron swing, so you may also want to consider what is currently in your woods/hybrids as well before settling on an iron shaft.

Not knowing what you want to do with that club, I will say just go straight in but check the swing weight.

Once I get the stock shafts out and go to steel it will be really easy to swap to graphite.

> The stock shaft shouldn't stop you from using graphite. Even the stiff is a noodle. It ruins the whole club. I'm not surprised they went to a recoil in the 85.
