Just chiming in as I bought one last week. Impetus was doing a fitting on a SAM lab and seeing I had developed a pretty big in/out stroke along with leaving the face open. Not a wonder I was struggling putting this season.

The Exputt is very easy to setup - just plug in to your TV and point the camera at the mat. Went into practice mode and immediately saw the same info I got from the SAM fitting. Face anywhere from 1-3 degrees open and path in to out by any number of degrees. Impossible for me to make a straight putt beyond 10 feet.

I set it up to roll 20 foot putts (the longer my stroke the worse the path, this seemed like a good place to start) and laid down a couple unused grips to form a gate. This was kinda tricky to do without interfering with the cameras ability to pick up the putter face. I had the best luck with a couple black grips with solid black end caps - I had a Pure pro with white writing on the end cap that seemed to trip up the camera more often. I also added another light to the room which seemed to help. After getting that setup dialed I spent an hour rolling putts and was making some much better strokes. Worst putts were 1 degree open / 1 degree in out vs potentially astronomical numbers without the gate setup, most were much closer to 0.

Can't comment yet on the ability to fine tune your distance using the Exputt and taking it out on the course, but as a practice device to work on the mechanics of the stroke I think it is invaluable to be able to get instant feedback. Very happy with the purchase so far, the rest is on me to actually get better.

This device is perfect for working on face angle in your stroke. It's also very good for lag putting, you can figure out distance(feet) for varying lengths of back stroke length. What it does not do is give you visual feedback on what this mean when you see the hole vs your ball. You can work on this by walking off your putts when you are playing to give you a general idea of feet. It also helps if you can get to the practice putting area some to work on these distances you are dialing in.

Just tried this at Scheels today and found this thread.  Seems like it could be a nice tool for getting putts on line, and a bit of help with distance control if you start to gauge putts in terms of feet, right now it's all visual for me so that would be a change.  I'm leaning towards getting one.

Hi All ... looking for more recent updates from anyone that has purchased an Exputt.

How long have you had one?

Has it improved your putting?

If so, how (swing path, lag, other)?

Has anyone made it work with an iMac monitor or iPad?

Any additional thoughts on the Exputt now that you've had it for a while?

Thanks in advance!

I have had mine for about a year and use is 3-4 times a week and would purchase again.  I feel like it has significantly improved my distance control on putts and my ability to adapt to different speed greens.  Unless I go to a course I don't have a way to practice putts over about 10 feet and the Exputt allows me to practice distance control up to 50 feet.    The device will work with anything that accepts and HDMI input;   I use a small 17 inch TV.

Can anyone compare this version of Exputt to the new RG version? I have the original but I’m curious how big of an upgrade the new one may be!

So is there no update to RG?  I noticed the said software updates via Wi-Fi. Was the original not able to update?

I’ve been using EXPUTT RG for the last couple of months. I do some fixed distance practice, and increasing distance practice from 5 feet to 45 feet on 11 stimp which is what my home course rolls during summer months.

I have it set up in my “golf room” with a television on a lower tv stand, “feels” like looking at the hole at the height my tv is at. I had it in the living room for fun practice when I first got it but visually it didn’t feel the same in my routine as putting on a green. I was looking up to a mounted tv vs down to a few feet off the ground.

But - it’s very much helped with my distance control, which is really what this is for. You learn what a 40 foot putt, 25 foot putt, 15 foot putt feels like in your stroke. And you take the depth perception variable out of the equation, which is where your mind fools you on the course.

I play some sim golf as well with my coach and we have the stimp on gspro set to 11 as well.. I can say the speed control that EXPUTT trains DIRECTLY translates to Gspro on gc quad. Which I found impressive for the EXPUTT unit.
