River Forest & Brickyard - Macon Area

Hey Folks,

I think I’ll be relocating from Katy Tx to Macon/Atlanta area for work. I’ve been at a Club Corp course here in Katy for the last 7 years (Falcon Point). I’m really pretty content with my current club (Travel Benefits, Weekly Games, Active MGA, Couples Tourneys, Course Conditions), so I’d really like some thoughts on River Forest as it’s a Club Corp. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on River Forest?

Brickyard also looks interesting, but it doesn’t sound as if there are quite as many weekly games or groups available. Brickyard also doesn’t seem to have many Couples Tourneys. Any feedback on Brickyard?

River forest is an awesome golf course! I’ve played it twice, and each time I thoroughly enjoyed my round... especially considering I drove 1.5-2 hours to get there.

Bent greens were excellent. Firm and super quick. Rest of the course was in good shape as well. Course overall is kind of like the six flags of golf without being goofy. Really fun and different holes to play.

I have a customer that just built a home in there as well. Not sure how active the club is in general though. Pretty sure it’s one of the bigger club Corp tracks down there in Macon/Forsyth area.

I haven’t been to Brickyard, but I’ve heard it’s nice

I don't know much about their membership but I have played both courses once and I enjoyed them. River Forest I liked the best. These courses are probably your best choice in that area.
