Combo sets?

Why do you think equipment companies don't push more combo sets for the general population? For example, why doesn't TM offer a set of 8 irons that are like the RAC OS in the long irons and the LT in the short irons. It seems this would fit the majority of people's games better than a whole set of one or the other. I could just be way off with my thinking, but what do you think?

Not necessarily produce new equipment, but make it easier to mix and match irons from different sets. It usually can be done, but it is a hassle and it takes a while to get the clubs.

Companies like Muira and Mizuno are already doing this, hell you could order a set of MP-33's in 2-6, and MP-30's in 7-PW and they'd do it for you. I think it would be pretty cool if more companies were doing this, but I guess you could look at it this way. Most companies on the market are already offering a combo set in their line, (Titleist: 735.CM, Nike: Pro Combos, TM: 2003 TP Combos, Callaway hasn't even produced a set of blades yet, but you could get the Hogan FTX's, ect.), and they are thinking that if a customer wants a combo set, then they are offering one, and they cavity backs that they produce are meant to be cavity backs, and blades are supposed to be blades.

Just a thought, but I am sure we will be seeing some more companies offering this option in the future.

From other posts on here it seems that a company like Ping has been doing this for a long time. In my opinion, though, I'm not sure that it's necessarily advertised the way it should be. The first time I realized you could do something like that was on this forum. If you know your information you can go to tgw.com and do the custom fitting option. I would thing companies would advertise this more, but then again they're more in the business of making money so...

I think it's a great idea. I feel companies should launch more sets like the Nike Pro Combo and theTaylorMade RAC TP Combo when they were around. They were good sticks.
