What Is The Minimum Clubhead Speed For A Tour Pro? Who Has The Slowest?

I think what I would take from that is if you can't swing it at least 110, then you better be pretty special if you want to be comfortable in the world top 100.

Tiger managed to be fairly competitive back in 2013 when he barely touched his driver. He played Lytham around then hitting irons everywhere. Hard to imagine being that good while giving up that kind of distance. So it's doable, but you need to be other worldly at the rest of it.

I'd agree with that. At 110 mph Tour players should average around 273 carry, 290 total. So they'd be giving up less than a club difference compared to the tour average and 2 clubs to the longest 25 on tour. Giving up any more yards to the longest would require some extraordinary skills somewhere else to make up the difference.

I think Jim Furyk is about as slow as you can get with success on tour. He never hit it very far in his career but has recorded multiple rounds on tour under 60 and won over $70 Million. Accuracy has always been one of his strengths, I mean he uses the grip he does because he wanted to be accurate. Now not everyone who hits it as slow as him has had his success but he showed it was possible. I remember watching him in a practice round of the 2012 Match Play. He was playing a short par 4 with a wash. Its around 260 to carry the wash and he couldnt do it. He did get one over the wash in a match though but layed up other wise. The amount of greens he hits though is crazy. I doubt we will ever see anyone hit it that short and have success on the tour unless things change. I think the only way we will see more players like this is if courses are allowed to grow rough again and tighten fairways. Courses cant get much longer and I would love to see more tournaments with rough that punishes wayward drives. Anyone who has ever tried to hit out of rough thats 4"+ knows how hard it can be.

Thats off. Have done 18h w/ kuch and measured via shotlink his drives many times.

He's alot taller than he looks. Uses the leverage to hit 300 no problem. He's above avg length and no bunter for tour length

Kuch @108 maybe for his 4w.

Cameron is always 125+. Trackman guys had running bets how fast. That major he over 130+ a few times. Same measurement occurred in another major & playoff events.

Problem is many of those measurement holes are using a 3w speed.

Have done a few rounds w/ Toms. He is one of the shortest in recent years. He would play very accurately, not miss any fairway but hit 270-280 with max of 290. He plays the old 80s-90s game of shotmaking and keeping the ball in play.

There are plenty of lower ranked pros that are shorter. You'll see them for a yr or two and will be constantly fighting to keep their card.

Slowest swing top ranked pro has to be Furkx. Many pros 3w or 4w are longer than his driver. He also plays the old 80s-90s game of shotmaking and keeping the ball in play.
