Las Vegas/ Los Angeles

I’ll be spending 2 days in Las Vegas and 5 in Los Angeles.. first time going to both spots.

Looking for recommendations on courses to play 50-200 a round

and I’ll be solo so if any WRX’ers are looking to play PM me!

LA-

Rustic Canyon in Moorpark is awesome. Gil Hanse modern links design and a great value. Might have to call ahead as because of COVID stuff they've been pretty booked.

Rancho Park- Old LA open course prior to Riv. Play during the week as weekends are pace of play nightmares.

Industry Hills Ike- Sort of gimmicky but incredible views and a nice layout.

Angeles National- not as impressive as Rustic and more expensive imo but another solid place to play.

So much depends on where you’re staying and your willingness to drive. If you don’t mind spending 60-90 minutes in the car:

Good LA public golf is very spread out with some clusters of high quality courses. I’ll echo rustic 100%. Rancho is my home course and is a total escape from it all in the middle of the city, a quality layout and conditions have been pretty good recently, would be a good play at the bottom of your price range. A little over 30 minutes past rustic is soule park, another Gil Hanse masterpiece. $34 to walk during the week. Goose creek also rates very highly for me (60 minutes inland). For the high dollar courses Pelican North is the best. Oak Quarry (around 90 minutes inland) is also a good track.

LA is a big place...really depends on how much you want to drive and where you are staying....Rustic is great, as is Industry Hills and Pelican...but each is a solid hour from Beverly Hills depending on traffic.

Wolf Creek in Nevada is a must...truly unique and memorable...figure 75-90 minutes from strip.

Bear in mind that golf is booming during the pandemic, and many of these course are not only much more crowded, but filled with beginners. POP is not good!
