Looking for Golf School/Resort in Arizona

The wife & I are looking at heading out to Arizona in Feb & I was hoping someone could recommend a resort/school to consider.

We're looking for something along the lines of a 3 day school that offers instruction for all levels of golfers along with nice accomdations.

We're never been to Arizona & would appreciate any help that would make this trip something to enjoy.

I recommend you look at Bird golf which is at Wildhorse pass. You can't beat the courses(2 of the best), the accomodations are 1st class, casino on site. Instruction is top class especially for different levels. If you can swing it, this is definitely choice #1 by a long distance.

Or Jacobs school at Gold Canyon. Gold Canyon is not as new, but it is a very nice area and the Dinosaur course is one of the best around. The range and practice facilities are pretty poor though which is the major downside.

There is a school at Wigwam with one of the top instructors in the country, but old facility and not a great area.

Kierland is fantastic golf, great accomodations, but instruction is not always available.

my brother in laws family stayed at Kierland and they LOVED it.

very nice facility, great for families and place was near the Village shopping complex.

I would second the Kierland recommendation. Mike and Sandy LaBauve are both highly acclaimed teachers, the golf course is enjoyable and the Westin resort is on-site with nearby shopping and dining.

Has anyone had any experience with the Carefree Resort in Carefree ?
I talked to a representative of the John Jacobs Golf School & that's the resort that they're conducting their school from.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Can't talk to the resort accomodations. The area is nice and Cave Creek is also nice. Scottsdale is not far either.

As for the course: The course is Legend Trail. This is a very nice course. I will give you a "However". Legend Trail is not an easy course by any means. So it depends on how you feel on this...some folks may not want that hard of a course for their school/trip/etc. Practice facilities are quite nice. Customer Service is quite good.

The nice thing is the amount of other quality courses in the immediate area if you want to play others(Troon North, Grayhawk, Wildfire, Boulders). BTW, Wildfire is a nice place too, but I don't know about instruction there.

Course difficulty is why I usually recommend Wild Horse Pass for the Golf School-Vacation combo. It is very forgiving and quite pleasurable to play.

Did you check out the Jacobs site? I guess you mean while you are here the only offering is at Carefree??? Because they offer at all the other courses too.
