Club Heads in Carry on??

Quick question, can I take my Driver and 3 wood club heads and put them in my carry on? Headed to AZ tomorrow. I saw golf balls are ok in the carry on but didn’t see anything about club heads. Thanks

yeah you're good. i always do it. occasionally my bag will get pulled going through security but as soon as they see its a club head im on my way

I detach the driver and 3 wood heads and carry on.  Also Velcro the shafts together in the checked bag.  Have a fun trip.

I've done this and made it through security before. However, it felt like a close call. A younger TSA agent pulled the driver head out of my bag to show it to another agent. I watched her make a motion with it like she was trying to show how it could be used as a weapon. Thankfully the older agent said to let it through. Was going on a trip to play a special course and would have been livid if they'd confiscated my club heads.

As others have said, this is fine.  I did it just a couple weeks ago.  It does sometimes throw off the person reading the scanner, but, once they realize what they are, you are good to go.

Yes you can. But...it is easier in my opinion to detach the heads and wrap have them in a towel or headcover in the golf bag.

When I played detachable heads I used to place them inside a sock and then inside a shoe in my golf bag. Never had a problem. I was with a guy who was pulled out of line and his carry-on pilfered because his driver head "resembled a grenade". This was the first time I used Shipsticks so I didn't have to deal with this screener but I learned a lesson and never placed a detached head in my carry on thereafter.
