Seamstrong to Worldwoods

 Flying into Tampa on a Tuesday in May and looking to play 1 course at Seamstrong on Tuesday afternoon.  Then 2 other courses at Seamstrong on Wed.  Then would drive to Worldwoods early Thursday.  Play Pine and Oaks.  Then driving to a wedding early on Friday morning to Sarasota.   Question is-is it worth it to go to Worldwoods from Seamstrong adding an extra 3 hours of driving time?  I looked up courses in Tampa area and didn't any that look to compare to Worldwoods except for maybe TPC Tampa?

No. Go to Lakewood nationals in Bradenton and play commander and piker instead.

Depends on how you travel.  For me, I can handle 3 hours on the road no problem.  Others cannot.  Personally I think from a design standpoint, World Woods is superior to Streamsong.  But the conditions and the clubhouse/general atmosphere...that's in Streamsong's favor.  

 

I like TPC Tampa Bay, but it's not worth making a long trip for.  

 

You may want to consider Bay Hill instead, although you'll need to stay at the lodge for a night.

 

A better idea may be to play Gasparilla or Tiburon.  Gasparilla is only about 1 hour from Sarasota.

the guy is going down to streamsong/ south of tampa by a long shot and has to go even more south for a wedding. He should not hike back into tampa then hike back down again for the wedding.

 

go to lakewood national, the web.com tour is an annual on the commander course. If he wants to play 2 rounds, they have two courses there.  Don't waste your time driving so much.

Another nod for Lakewood National. There’s a lot of golf in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. That drive after 36 on Wednesday doesn’t sound like fun

I’d stay at Streamsong and play there as much as you can.  Can’t imagine anywhere around being more fun or worth a change-up if I’m already there.

I’d play Lakewood National Commander (and Piper) course 3 or 4 times over one round at any of the Streamsong courses for the rates Streamsong is charging now in addition to caddy fees and having to walk.
