Ping G410 19 v 22 hybrid

Can’t get on a launch monitor ATM but do people generally play 19 or 22 degree hybrid in the G410?

 

Which is better out the rough? Does the 22 spin too much? 

 

I’m not dropping my 4 iron. It’s a P760 22 degree and is one of my favourite clubs. Looking for something below it that’s versatile but gives me enough separation distance wise

I play the G410 22 hybrid with my I210 4 iron. Loft is the same but the hybrid is 10 to 15 yards longer and great out of the rough.

 

The 3 hybrid was just too long and the gap didn’t work for me.

No experience with the G410 but my experience mirrors the poster below: my 24-degree 4-iron is a 220 yard club for me and my 19 Srixon hybrid goes up to 250.  I have to choke down a lot to get that 225-230 distance and will have a gap either at 230 (if I use a 3-hybrid) or a gap at 245-265 (where the 4-wood kicks in, assuming I hit it perfectly!) if I use the 4-hybrid.  

 

Tough call either way as I once I get up past 235, I can hit greens with a good swing but the odds of doing so start to drop!

Are you playing it as 22 or have you it lofted down? What shaft have you in it compared to your irons

I actually play the 19 and 22 hybrids. Although I dropped my 4 iron for the 22 degree. Feel I am able to do more with the 22 than the 4 iron.

Playing it at 22 with Project X EvenFlow black at 6.5 Flex.

 

Irons are I210 with DG 120 x100. 
 

Gaps perfect for me. The G410 hybrids are great as are the I210 irons. Ping is making really good equipment right now.

OP, if you do not already know, in general, a hybrid with the same loft as an iron will have a longer overall length compared to the iron. Given all other club characteristics, this should result in longer avg distance for the hybrid. Only need to keep in mind for gapping between your 5i and the next club after the hybrid. You might want to even try hitting the Ping G410 5 hybrid as you might find it goes the distance you want out of  4i.

I play the 19. Driver is 9, 14.5 3 Wood that doesn’t get used often, and then the 19 degree.  I know a lot of people say they can’t hit a hybrid but I hit them straight and long. I’m tempted just to take some off of it instead of hitting the 4 iron. Also evenflow black 6.5

What’s the evenflow black profile like? Is it butt soft like the Diamana whiteboard profile?
