Some Good Championship Golf Coming to Wisco

Whistling Straits will be hosting the one year delayed Ryder Cup.

 

Erin Hills has the US Mid-Am in 2022 and the US Women's Open in 2025.

 

And now Sentry World is getting the US Senior Open in 2023.

I always forget about about sentry world. I might make the hike out to play it this summer from michigan.

Women,s Open at EH is huge and the US Sr. Open at Sentry also big.....I know they always wanted the big guys to come well this is the next best thing.  Maybe the women will be next at Sentry!

They were closed all of 2020.  I don't know if it was a COVID decision or additional work on the course.  Conditions are always excellent and the staff can't be beat.

All of the SentryWorld facilities have been (and still are) closed due to COVID -- golf course, dining, field house activities, all of it. Kind of a bummer they kept the course closed all year, but I'm sure they made some improvements to the course in the meantime. I would normally hit up their indoor practice facility once or twice a month during these dreadful winter months just to remind myself what a golf swing feels like. Maybe spring for an hour in their GC Quad if I felt like splurging. Not this year, though. *sigh*

 

Very excited for the Senior Open in '23. It will be fantastic for Wisconsin golf.

They will be closed in 2021 until August, adding back tee's to some holes, narrowing the fairways and also redesigning some of the bunkers so they are more in play for the tournament

Hard to believe they can afford to do that.   They were closed at least an entire season with the big facelift and redesign.  I haven't played up there in 30 years so really need to make a road trip up there soon.  The pictures look amazing.

The course is owned by Sentry Insurance -- worth 3.3 billion, according to google
