Fujijkura Rombax Z and Mitsubishi Ali'i's Lei

two shafts I was checking out today

I was checking out the new Fujikura Rombax Z and Mitsubishi Ali'i's Lei shafts today. I love the graphics on both of the shafts. Luckily for me the X's didn't arrive yet. Especially since I don't have anything to stick them in. Otherwise I think I would have been buying two new drivers today to go with the shafts. :clapping:

They do look the business, especially the Ali'Islei!!! I've heard mixed reviews on it though as it is mid-high bend but has a fairly soft tip as well.

A few people here in Thailand are really liking it though so... let us know how it works out! In particular I'd be interested in any comparison you or other folks there could give to the Axiv (V or X) or Roddio (WA).

I think that design is the biggest if not the second biggest deciding factor when buying a shaft, no matter how it performs. And those are sweet. Thanks for the pics!

Very nice looking pair of shafts. I'm kind of digging the Fujikura Sakura too--almost like the two of these got together and had a baby shaft. :clapping:

Tell us more about the Sakura, that looks interesting! I'm sure the people at Mitsubishi are flattered by the design as well.

The Sakura is the womens line. I dont know the specs. The shaft does look nice.

LOL Johnny...many times I'll do a stiff tipped but in the case of Ali'i's Lei...my clubmaker noticed the other month while shafting up a X Drive with one, the shaft CPM'ed low. More like a Japanese Stiff and not US Stiff. After fiddling with the stiff shown above yesterday even if it got a 2" tip, it probably wouldnt' have been stiff enough for me. I figured at the price the shaft cost...I'd rather wait for the X before wasting money just to get the first whacks with it.

Scott..I don't know if this is good but I'm pretty happy with my two drivers at the moment, the OnOff with Roddio and the G10 with Rombax X I've been experimenting with BUT after seeing the Rombax Z and Ali'i's Lei.....I really want to try them so I've been looking for heads to stick them in. I'll probably give both of them a test in the near future...once I decide on the heads.

Please forgive me, is the new Ali'Islei the same, similar or different to the Fubuki? Also, when are we to expect a release date for the Rombax Z, Ali'Islei and how much will they be?

Ali'i's Lei and Fubuki are two different shafts. I got a few pics of the Fubuki at the Sony the other week.

The Rombax X and Ali'i's Lei are both currently in stock at my club makers shop. I'm sure you'll be seeing it most others as well quite soon. Pricewise...like most other high end shafts, expect to pay a starting price near the $300 zone.

Aliíslei is a softer tip shaft design with mid kick point and made to target Asian/Japanese market only.

Fubuki is a prototype shaft, They were trying to see if they can fool around with materials and construction technique to build a lower kick point shaft with lower spinrate.

Another happy Rombax Z user here...I have it in my Burner TP and it's a great match. Don't think anything will be replacing it...ever.
