Custom Bettinardi

I have had putters built by Sunset Beach, Tom Slighter, Byron Morgan and Lajosi.  I am thinking I am going to get a promotion soon and I always reward myself with a putter when I get promoted.  

All that being said, I am interested in having the next project be a custom built Bettinardi.  Does anyone have any insight into the process for working directly with Bettinardi Custom dept?  how much actual customization is there?

I know @gsrjc has had a few built so he will be your best bet for info on the process.

I’d reach out to Bettinardi and ask for Mike Biviano. He’s the custom Bettinardi guy and he’ll take good care of you from getting an idea of what style you are looking for to what type of putter face style to what color, etc.  You can basically do whatever you want with them. I like a cleaner look for my putters.  It’s process to enjoy and he can also send you ideas of HIVE putters from their archives to get an idea of what you want. I travelled their in 2018 to get fitted by Mike and let him know the idea of what I wanted. My stroke put me in a BB8 with a quarter toe hang so I’ve stayed with that type of putter. If you can go there it’s a lot of fun but with Covid I don’t know each person’s situation. Even if you don’t go, Mike can send you a lot of information. Call their main number 708-802-7400 and tell them you want to chat with Mike about HIVE putters and he’ll help you out. He can give you his number and email after that so he can send you pictures and also give you certain ideas. Here are my two that he custom made for me. 
 

The black one I just got a few months ago. Both are BB8 and fit face which is the softest feel that Bettinardi has. Imagine much softer than white hot putters. Both weigh about 350 grams and are 34” with LA golf shafts that I put in after the fact. 
 

Also, the HIVE putters come with a custom head cover and ask for a ball marker and divot tool on the house.

Second recommendation on Mike Biviano.  I worked with him on the BB-8 listed in this older post.  Also worked with him on a custom BB-40, so their range is very wide (blades, mallets, etc.) in terms of customization and tailoring to your needs.  

 

Good team over there in Chi-town.  Not the cheapest, but the quality and service are definitely there in abundance.  Good luck!!

sounds like I have a game plan.  As mentioned, they are not cheap but I dont mind the cost as long as it comes with a commensurate level of service and attention to detail.  Hopefully updates to follow soon.

It will definitely have that. Note that it might take some time as they have been very busy.
