TSi 1 or 2 (+ Autoflex)

I'm looking at getting a new driver and have been looking at the TSi 2 for awhile now. I just recently learned that Nelly Korda has found success with the TSi 1 and likes it in part because it was better for her tendency to miss heel side. Her swing speed and heel miss is similar to mine so now I'm considering giving that a look too.

 

 I'm also looking at trying out an Autoflex at some point.  It would seem that the lighter head weight of the TSi 1 would be a better match.

 

what are your thoughts? Does anyone have the stock head weights of both?

I ended up getting the TSi2. There was a 20% off sale at the golf store this weekend and the TSi1s didn't have the loft and shaft that I wanted. The head weighs 195g. Anyone have the actual stock weight of a TSi1 head?

I did look through 20+ pages of that and couldn't find anything related to my initial question. I guess it's moot at this point because I just bought the 2. I'll just have to get a lighter back weight on it when I get the Autoflex. 

 

Edit: The main thing I was thinking was that I'd need to get the head weight down <190g for an ideal AF setup. With the TSi 2 it means getting a lighter back weight which also means a reduction in MOI. The TSi1 starts off as a lighter head so I was thinking that it is more suited for the AF.

I 100% think you need to get fitted for the AutoFlex shaft before you spend $700 or $800 on it. You can easily call up a fitter who carries those shafts and say "hey I just bought a TSi2 and am putting it into play can you retro fit me for the best possible shaft that works for my game?"

 

I read a quote from the Top 100 Teachers show at Pinehurst this year and one of the best fitters there (I forget his name sorry) said that the AutoFlex was flying off the shelves but it was very hit or miss. The quote was something along the lines of "when it worked for people, it REALLY worked. But when it didn't work, those people didn't even consider it or see a difference in their numbers at all"

 

Definitely something to consider before trying to track one of those down

I've been searching for the perfect shaft for my tsi2, and finally got the thing dialed in. Autoflex SF505X and the 9* lofted down to 8.25.


fortunately, my pro plays the same head and similar weight / flex and I was able to demo his.

 

it's the wildest shaft and my only miss with it is a push when I don't release it. Was skeptical of this shaft prior to trying it, but it's the real deal.
