Hzrdus Hulk vs Smoke RDX Green

Hi, guys! I have a big doubt here, couple of weeks ago I bought the new RDX Green 6.0 for my 425 Max Driver, that setup is amazing, I think it's the best combo I've ever had; 45", 9 degrees loft set to 7.5 just awesome.

I am getting the new Rogue ST Max Driver but can't make up my mind if I should get this same shaft or the HULK. Here's why: RDX Green is counterbalanced so its supposed to "match" better with heavier heads such as my 425 Max, I don't know the head weight of the Rogue ST MAX but I guess its around 190 since that has been the head weight of recent Callaway Drivers (I may be wrong here), I watched a Project X video saying that the difference between HULK and RDX Green is that RDX is counterbalanced and HULK is not.

My fear is to purchase RDX for the Callaway and have it feel off because of this (since the lighter weight of the head compared to the ping) So should I get the HULK being not counterbalanced as True Temper says? They say both are pretty much the same only for the counterbalanced part but torque is also different, 3.3 for HULK and 2.8 for RDX both in 6.0

I know you are going to say I should try both but I just can't do that where I live so any help would be great!

The rdx green is counter balanced. That is going to be the primary difference. But are going to be low low in launch and spin. I have not seen the ei profile for the rdx green yet. But I have heard from project x/true temper to think of the rdx as a counter balanced hill. But also heard them call it the new T1100. So I don’t know. At least till I see the two profiles and ei curves side by side.

The Callaway head should be around 193-195g without the adapter.

Keep in mind that the Ping adapter is 3-4g lighter than the Callaway too.

Don’t change shaft and head weight specs from what works, for a better apples versus apples comparison you should use the same head weight AFTER taking the adapter weight difference into account.

If you have the Callaway built to the same specs as the G425, the head weights will be the same and the RDX should perform the same. If you have the Rogue built to the same length and swingweight as the G425, there is no reason the shaft should perform any differently. Callaway might have to install a heavier weight in the back of the head to hit your desired swingweight, which will essentially make the Rogue head the same weight as the G425 head. Don't overthink this.

The ‘hulk’ is a tx version of the smoke green shaft.  If you're asking if you should go from rdx green 6.0 to smoke green 6.5tx (hulk) the answer is only if you want a shaft that is orders of magnitude stiffer.

if you're asking if you could swap out a 6.0 rdx green for a 6.0 smoke green the answer is likely yes, but the bend profiles are likely different.

I’m asking if performance/feeling is going to be off using the RDX in the new Rogue ST Max since it’s counterbalanced. Right now im using that shaft in my G425 max which is gonna be heavier than the Rogue ST. So the original question was if I should go for the non counterbalanced hulk 6.0 or RDX green 6.0

There's no such thing as a Hulk 6.0.  The hulk is the Tour X version of the Smoke Green, as already mentioned.  The 6.0 Smoke Green has a completely different profile.

I have not hit either side by side.  But i suspect the shaft profiles are different, and therefore will feel different.

From what’s been posted as marketing collateral, the rdx green is a replacement to the t1100.  In my opinion that has a very different feel than the smoke green non tx version.

t1100 felt very linear and low torque.  Smoke green non tx had a much more pronounce torque and feeling of loading and unloading, closer to the smoke black in my experience.

Weight placement though will impact flight/spin characteristics.  It’s not as simple as adding exact amount of weight to get the same swing weight.
