Tour JumboMax JMX Zen Lite grips – 2022 Farmers Insurance Open

I ordered one of these to test out.   I tried out the ultralites last year in medium and I really liked them.  My only complaints with the ultralites is that they were slightly slippery when wet and the polymer wore away pretty fast and could be more durable.  Also, they didn't fit great in my bag, but my staff bag for this year should solve that.  I have high hopes for these as the rubber outer layer seems to solve a bunch of the issues I had with the ultralights.  

 

I have been using MCC plus 4 jumbos recently and I like them too, but  I think I would prefer a slightly bigger size.  I went with the XS in the jumbomax and will report back on them.

 

Also I think it would be great if jumbomax could put some cord in the rubber.  I would love to try that.

I can agree. Just re gripped mine last night to the zen lite small - was playing tour velvet jumbo with 4 wraps prior. These feel very similar. Will update after my first round with them this weekend.

I have had the jmx installed for a few days now.  I really like it.  I think it's the best jumbomax offering.  It feels like a rubber grip.  I'll see how it holds up over the next couple months, and how it performs in the weather and then possibly upgrade all clubs

Been playing the JMX Ultralight XL's for a little over 7 years now and obviously really like them. Tried one of the new Zen Lights in XL on my driver the last few days. I was actually surprised how much I like it. Will keep it on and see how it goes.

 

I have 2 full back-up sets of the JMX Ultralight XL's though so "probably " won't do a full bag swap just yet.

Last season I played Jumbo Max UL Small of woods and XSmall on irons.  Liked it but wanted more feel.

 

Saved the iron grips when taking them off and put them on the woods for next season.  Have a few spare grips now as well.

 

Just put the JMX standard jumbo +1/8 on my irons and wedges.  I like the weight and length of the grip. Especially on short irons and wedges as I can grip down.

 

Only hit them inside so far but seems like the right set up for me.

 

Installed all of them with air in the garage.

Well that didn't last long. Ordered a full set of the Zen Lights in XL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These Zen Lites don’t have a seam, right?

They do but it'e very minimal. Not near as pronounced as the Ultralights.

 

But in all honesty, I went back to the Ultralights after about 10 rounds. I like the texture of the Zen Lights better but they are a little too firm for me. The ultralights are definitely a little softer.

 

I'll be putting the Zen Lites on the BST as soon as I get around to it.

ill have to check this out. For me it’s a durability question.  Been a EPMD rubber user (PURE/Star) so I know those last. But all the other rubber like velvet tour, my active thumb just wears those out - but I don’t complain since it’s $8 or less a grip. These zen lite double the price.

 

 But I’ll check them out.

They look pretty durable to me. That's one of the ( the other was feel ) reasons I wanted to swap. My trigger finger on my right hand always wears a spot out on my Driver grip.

im kind of weird like that too......im a big fan of the zen lites on my wedges though, i like to have a little more "feel" of the ball in the wedges and i think the zens provide that a bit more.
