My time at the FBR with Matrix Shafts and Adams Golf

Here are some pics from my time with the PGA tour rep for Matrix shafts. I got to go on the range on Mon. and Tues. He has a tough job and busts his a** to get shafts in play. Being as picky as they are, I watched Dean Wilson Demo the HM2 in a hybrid fit perfectly for him. He was hitting it great. After 1o great shots he turns around and said it was too heavy. On the other end there is Sabo. Adams said his is easy to fit and is not picky. They were fitting him for the new XTD ProDF2400X. The numbers were the same as his Gamer and I believe he wil be Playing the 2400 this week.

What a driver the DF2400 is. This thing is AWESOME!!!! I ran out of film on the shot of his driver head. I got to talk with the R&D guys and hopefully will get a head in the mail this week. Mike Guerrette is the man in the r&d dept.. I will post pics when I get the 2400. I did not see the Pro 3wood at the van. I was very lucky to get some behind the ropes point of veiw.

Joe had 3 shafts in play on Monday and 8 in play on Tuesday included in that count is Shane Berscht: F7M2 drive, 8M2 3wood and 5wood HM2 in hybrid. He liked the shafts so much he switched his 5 wood that he had for 8 years (old clev. with an EI70 lol) CHIII put the HM2 in a 18 degree Peanut. Camillo still using the XX TP7x, Rory using F7M2 in the DF and 8M2 in 3wood. He had a demo HM2 in one of his hybrids.

I was sneeking pics with a disposible camera LOL.. Sneeking was tuff so that was the best i could do. I had an awesome time. Got to chat with Daivid Toms, and I tried talk Fredrick Jacobson into an X-Con 6. The Adams guys are awesome and i should be getting the 2400df in a few days. They only had 10 heads at the FBR.

What grips does rory have on his clubs now?

I watched them change his whole set to Iomic. Some yellow, some green, and i think he put blue one his wedges.

Thats awesome! Even though the pics are fuzzy its still great to see! Matrix is a wonderful company, I have gotten to know a few people there and they are really outstanding, and they work in a great environment that the company has created!

awesome pics man. really cool how you got rorys clubs. good to see most of what he was using for that tournament. he did not play particularly well tho which is unfortunate i think. but at least he made the cut... again awesome pictures and thanks for taking them

Is that the new adams idea pro? When does it come out?

The Hybrid is the new Idea Pro for 2008, the irons are a3's.

What degree loft was CHIII's peanut? I saw him at the buick and could have sworn he has a lime colored matrix in it at the time.

When is the new hybrid the idea pro a3 going to be available, it looks like a must have.

The Hybrid is the Idea Gold. It will be with the new Idea Gold set. I saw a proto of the irons. It will not have a polymer insert like the pic in Golf Dig. I like the look of the new set. The irons are a mix of the idea pro and a tours. Hybrid will be the size of the idea pro with boxer technology and weight port. Not sure what shafts, Maybe ysQ or DVS with Black Golds???? The Pro DF Driver and Pro 3wood are now on the Adams site. SICK SUFF!!!!!

Idea Golds will hit the shops sometime around April, May. Woods sooooon, Hopefully.

 

CHIII was playing a 18 degree peanut, 59 dgree lie angle and 2 degree open face, X-Stiff HM2 Tipped xtra .5. Moster!!!!!

 

Pug Wedges: Something like 144 different combos of Pug wedges, Lofts, Bounce, Grinds, Ect. availble soon. All will have aggressive grooves and milled faces like the old Pugs. I saw one they made for RW Eaks. NASTYYYY!!!

 

ADAMS WILL SOON TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!! HA HA HA HA (evil laugh) I am excited to be on staff this year.

I don't know if they will have as many combinations, but I am sure they will have some lefty wedges.

Great post and thanks for the pics, we will have to chip in to get you a proper spy cam. I guess those are still the Titleist wedges? Any idea if they will get Rory into the Pugs or Badds into a few more clubs?
